Also Riley Preece has 2 nice throws for TDs.
JC defense has played well after the first set of 10 plays. JC is playing a few freshman on defense. 2 freshman started on D.

For years, the word "program" would always get brought up every time JC would get a big win or before the season started and we would be ranked in the top 10 in the pre-season polls. When teams like Cov. Cath., Highlands, Boyle County or Belfry would roll in to Johnsonville, all roads would lead back to something to the effect of "JC is having a good season, but they are not a good program." Three straight 4A state championship games & one state title later, I can say JC has a football program. The senior class has only known & seen winning football their entire scholastic career. Not too mention some of the best players our school has ever produced like Grim, Johnson, Dillon X3, Jude, Richardson, Welch, Pack, Ratliff, Rice, Auxier, Tackett, Workman, Blanton.... the list can go on and on.

JC's first season with the new turf and stadium was 2007. With 82 home games (regular season & playoffs) from 2007 through 2017, JC has a home record of 68-14. That is a .829 win percentage. I would guess this is a better home winning percentage other than teams not named Trinity, St. X, Belfry & Highlands
Losses
Belfry: 3 (One loss state runner-up, One state championship season)
Cov. Cath.: 3
Highlands: 2 (Both losses came in state championship seasons)
Woodford County: 1
Perry County Central: 1
Boyle County: 1 (State championship season)
Sheldon Clark: 1
Bell County: 1 (State Semi-Finalist)
Horn Lake, MS.: 1

Does Mr. Jackson look back to form? If so, the black and gold will be tough to stop.

JC varsity only played the first half and was in full control of the game. Halftime score was JC 21 BHS 7. Had Beechwood not converted a well timed screen play it could have easily been 21-0 at the half. Beechwood has a very mobile QB to go along with some good athletes and an experienced line (2 are D1 commits). Defensively the Tigers returned 7 starters, are solid tacklers and pursue to the ball well. They will hard to handle in 1A.

It could have also very easily been 14-7 at the half had Beechwood's punter not decided to make an ill advised attempt to run for the first down on the rugby punt from his own 18 yard line with 1:25 left to go in the half. That gave JC the ball in great field position with just over a minute left to play in the half.
Both teams got out of the scrimmage healthy and both will make long post season runs.

Also the play was dead on kickoffs and punts. So the JC guys were just standing around thinking the punter was just going to punt it away but he tries to run for a first down on a dead ball play lol. The JC guys still stopped him from reaching the first down marker. Also JC had a kid get 2 yards deep in the end zone and the refs called him short lol. So yes it couldâve been worse. Beechwood is a great team and the people there were awesome aswell. They will run through 1A IMO.
