in no way do i see this being an easy game for the rams blaze. it never is. even when the score is lopsided, like last year, LC was probably the hardest hitting team we saw last year. That being said, I think its not just the numbers, but the quality numbers and depth that have made the difference over the years and i kind of think it will be much of the same this year. tight game for 2 or 2 1/2 quarters, with Raceland pulling away late.

LC has a good front 7 that is tough in the middle but struggled with containing the outside runs in the scrimmage I watched. Our secondary does not cover or plays the ball well in the air and seems to be out of position often. Playing west at safety will help some but our corners absolutely must play up and physical or the rams will simply kill us with screens and slants all night like they did last year. This has been an ugly series of games the last few years for the dawgs, especially with how prone theyhave been to start slow in early season games. Hopefully opening up at home will get them motivated to come out fired up for this one.

Lawrence is big and strong and actually match up well with the Rams. Raceland has a very good rushing attack. Should be a nice test for both teams. Interesting to see if the first year qb can take advantage of what appears to be Lawrence's bug-a-boo, which is there pass defense.

Scotty I agree with you on all points except for one. While Lawrence was a tough physical team I can’t really say they were the hardest hitting team we saw last year. I would have to give that title to either Somerset or Portsmouth West. LC was for sure a tough team last year though and if it weren’t for them shooting themselves in the foot in the first quarter the outcome very well could have swung in their favor.

I try to give a lot of latitude during football season because everybody loves their boys!! BUT, no way is anybody coming on here and talking shade about a student athlete. period.
