I donât know about Garrad, but I have talked to a lot of Bell people. The consensus on here is they will be light years a head of last year. The people I talk to in person think they will be better but not to the expectations people are thinking. So who knows? Thatâs why they play the game. Or in Bells case, why they cance future games hahaha

Don't overlook Lexington Catholic with one of the best QB's in the state if not the best and he has receivers. There question will be there defense.

I hope I am wrong, but I don't see any 3A team being able to take down Boyle County this year.
The only question mark Boyle has will be part of their O-Line and the DT spot... outside of that Boyle is absolutely loaded and have great individual talent to go along with excellent coaching.
Belfry and Corbin will both be very good teams, probably among the Top 25 overall teams in Kentucky, and Central will possibly be a little bit better than even them. With that said, it would shock me to see someone other than Boyle County hoisting the trophy come November.
Best of luck to all fanbases represented on here this season. I probably won't be as active as most year's past by a long shot, but will still lurk from time to time.

I agree with you on Smith and Haywood has them also. To me that argument canât be won either way so what is the use it putting it in. Boyle supporters is going to say Smith as they should and the Belfry supporters are going to say Haywood and PJDoug heck nobody knows what he is going to say. I love to debate on football but somethings can never be settled. Both are great coaches only because they get their players to buy in to their scheme and have run great programs for awhile. Good luck to the Admirals and hope to see you Saturday FoSho

Now for your last part. Play around hahaha. Is that what you call it? Thatâs fine hahah. I guess we played around with you in the 2nd half haha. I hope you guys have an injury free season. But corbin and belfry will not being playing each other this season. Feel free to remind me if Iâm wrong and Iâll man up about it. But I donât think I will be.
Like you to my friend. You said something that hit a little nerve that's all. I'm serious about my football as I'm sure you are. Have always respected your posts and knowledge of your team and the game. Good Luck to you guys as well. If we both play good football anything can happen.

I think Garrard has a nice program, and if they were in another district, they would be a factor. Obviously, Dudley back for another year at Bell makes them interesting. Not sure they have enough horses at this point, but enough to sit up and take notice.
It will be interesting to see if any team out west comes full circle and makes a legitimate run towards the top. E-town, PT, Caldwell?

I look for my Bell County Bobcats to get in the top 10 and and stay there most of the year this year!

I honestly could care less where we start the year only matters to me where we end it :champ:

Itâs all in good fun. I asked a while back, and got somewhat of an answer I guess. But does belfry participate in 7on7? And if so, how do they do?
08-08-2018, 10:53 PM
I think we'll see improvement in alot of teams this year. But there's only 4 teams competing for the trophy I'm my opinion. I think Boyle is hands down the team to beat. I think with what Central has coming back their in the 2 spot with Belfry and Corbin to close to call but their defiantly in the 3 and 4 spots. After that I dont know of anybody else that can take down these four unless it's an upset which happens all the time. Should be a great year.

They do but I'll be honest with you brother I really dont follow it that much. My son is the Center and I usually stay and watch the big guys. If I had to guess I'd say were about average. I dont think 7 on 7 is our kind of thing with the offense we run. 99% run game and maybe 8 or 10 pass attempts a year. Lol

OutlawJoseyWales Wrote:If you were at the game, then you should have seen that Central was bigger than Belfry on both sides of the ball. O-Line and D-Line. Their O-Line physically whipped our undersized lineman. That was obvious.
Belfry's D-Line was undersized all year. Waggoner moved the ball with relative ease between the 20's the week prior.
Regarding this season....I've stated repeatedly that Belfry has holes to fill. The D-line MUST get bigger or Belfry will find themselves in offensive shootouts, that quite honestly, Haywood's style isn't suited for.
LB and DB are also question marks at this juncture. Big shoes to fill with the losses of Wellman, Varney, etc, etc.
As I stated earlier, Boyle is the Cream of the class....and I think rightfully so. If they stay injury free, they should repeat. However, I do think depth is an issue. If they have an injury or two, then all bets are off.
Central is squarely in the two hole. They lost several, but they have athletes at their disposal, and I believe they'll be a tough out.
Corbin and Belfry are about on par with each other. I give Belfry the edge because of Haywood...and the fact that Corbin lost their field general in Sizemore. I know the Estep kid is special, but he's still gonna be a first time starter at QB.
No disrespect intended, but Haywood over Haddix is a no brainer. Thus Belfry gets the overall edge. Just my opinion, but that's how I see it.
This Belfry squad won't come full circle until late. Don't make the mistake of overlooking them, if they drop a few games. It's gonna take some time. I will also add that depth is an issue for the Pirates at a few spots. they need to stay injury free to be a legitimate threat.
But they'll be ready come November
Good assessment, but I still put Corbin in the 2 spot to start the season.

I was just joking about that sucking up comment and should not have said it but I bet Coach Smith wonât tell his players to play around with Belfry. Now with that said I hope it gets to that game alot things can happen between now and then. If it does good luck to both teams but I will be cheering for Belfry.

I agree with contending for the ship but I was just referring to some others that may raise some eyebrows because they are not normally in the mix. I was glad to see Western Hills have a good year because they have been the doormat for years for a lot of teams. The Robinson is a special player. I hope he has enough around him for them to at least have a 8 or 9 win season which is huge for that school to do that in back to back seasons.

I don't know why you clowns always try to put Whitley County down like it bothers me. Whitley County plays ball with Whitley County kids. They don't have any players from West Virginia. Colonel Pride :Cheerlead:ChairHit::ChairHit: :haters:

Whitley County has played against Belfry in the playoffs a few times. Are you too senile to remember? lol. They've even hosted you in the playoffs.

Do YOU clowns really think the West Virginia comments really bother us? Lol! It doesnt! And everytime you go bashing Belfry that's all you got! Are you to senile to come up with some better material? And from the looks of things it would do Whitley County some good to hit the recruiting trail! But I understand why you get on here downing everybody else. Hell if I was a Whitley fan I'd probably do the same thing. That's about all you got to look forward to during football season.

Of course it does good to pretend like you're a college but no glory in that. Not much point in bragging and strutting when you win with players that are not even from the town you are in. I can't wait for Boyle County to come beat your West Virginia boys and show you who has the best coach

It really donât bother the Belfry crew! They make jokes about it also. Iâd say you if you go look at every football field in KY there is at least one kid thatâs not from that âTownâ on their roster. This joke is old and need to come up with a new one.

You know PJDoug in my day when the West Virginia boys and us Kentucky boys got around each other it was a fight thatâs how dumb we were. But now the way the economy is in this area I donât know if they would even be a Belfry High School if they didnât come across the river, at first I didnât like it. Someone who projected to build the new school that close to the river saw what the future held and it is true most schools do have players from other places. So it is what it is.

No need to even try. pjdoug isn't smart enough to come up with his own material. He just so happened to come across someone else's post saying the WV thing and he ran with it. I actually feel sorry for the guy. Success breeds jealousy and its destroying that little man.
