Raceland 2018
Josh Young? Josh was a good dual threat QB, qho through for 1700 yds and 23 TDs and only 9 ints and ran for another 480 and 8 TDs. I think the mind set that year, from a skill position was "get all the atheletes on the field". Josh was a QB, offensively. Conner could have lined up anywhere, and did, and been successful. but back to the thread, more bleachers going up at the field. wont be long till its all finished up!
RAMDAD50 Wrote:Started with bad choices with personnel!! Shoudvent went with a freshmen at QB and we would’ve been much futher ahead this year.We made the same bad decision years ago with Boyd at QB...he should’ve played the slot and rolled with Messer at QB but that was then.We just keep making the same mistake but it’s easy on this side to realize that after the decision has been made

Messer was too important elsewhere to play him at QB (and likely exclusively at QB).
messer was a much better reciever than what Josh would have been as well.
Josh has a good year but having said that he had a QB’s dream receiving group for sure

From what I've seen out of teams that run the Air Raid, having a quality group of receivers is more important than having a great quarterback.

That's probably an unpopular opinion but a great QB can't catch it or create space for the receivers.
We don’t run no Air RAID
RAMDAD50 Wrote:We don’t run no Air RAID

You run the Tony Franklin System which is an Air Raid offense

Y'all don't air it out much but still, that's where you all got your offense.

Randad don’t like our offense he knows what we run lol
And when Raceland has the QB who can spin it they throw the ball, just last year we didn’t have a QB who could make good decisions snd hit open receivers so we threw the ball 3-5 times a game .

2015 Regular Season game was 50-7
2017 Regular Season game was 32-18

And i agree ... should be another good matchup.
Now fbnut u know ram dad loves the offense
Nut is right ....I don’t mind the offense but what I don’t like is the hard headed coach that says this is what we do!! If we don’t have a QB that can get the ball down the field is it out of the question to get up under center and run the ball downhill ?? Last year was the perfect scenario with the backs we had! And I think that would’ve help Black to use the play action to hit wide open receivers to gain confidence!! Idk....what am I bitching about?? We went to the damn state championship game....Salmons for president

I agree you need to adjust to your personal. With the two back returning they need to run out of the I. But they can also work on things throughout the season but go the work horses..
I’ll take the bet

Ramdad50 I’ll take that bet
What bet?
field is coming together. things r looking really good
But can we win a football game?? Wait....Greenup and Russell are on the schedule right?? There’s two wins for sure!!! Bahahahahah

Here is a good one for you Ramdad. I got bored the other day and was looking at some old posts on this site and came across this post after we lost the first game against Russell in 2007.
Hahahaha ....we botched a game two years ago...if we wouldn’t have that first year we played them would be the only win the poor red devils would have against us...anybody find this as funny as me??

had a conversation following the game with a russell alum. he stated "the game was a good gate...but essentially a waste of time for the red devils"...hmmmmmm

After that game I guarantee no one (myself included) would think that Raceland would go on a long winning streak against Russell. That 2007 Russell team was the last team of that era of really strong teams that had a legit shot at making it to state.
I said for years that Russell would have a hard time with us because we usually don’t get beat by teams that run...it’s the teams that can throw a little that hurts us!
Raceland should be a contender if not the favorite to go to state again this season. Returning Dalton Adkins, Judd Adkins, Hunter Lacks, and Gunner Lewis gives them plenty of skill to work with. Word is that the lines will be solid again as they usually are for the Rams. I don't know anything about the possible QBs so that is a question mark at this point for me. I have heard a couple of transfers from Ironton joined Raceland as well. I look for another great season for Raceland with the only loss coming week 2 against Ashland.
if thats the case i will be suprised. Somerset and Portsmouth West are toss up games for me at best, if not being the underdogs especially going to their places this year.

I would think you'd be an underdog for sure at Somerset. How is the quarterback situation at Raceland ?

Paintsville is a toss up too.
QB will be young but athletic and a competitor . One thing for sure it will be a big upgrade from last year . Raceland has some really good backs with most of the line returning so that should help his progress a lot
As long as we keep playing this schedule we will be playing in week 14 or 15 for the next couple years! The people who don’t believe in a tougher schedule makes you better see crazy! The Rams could never get over the hump until they beefed up the schedule. All that made all the difference in the world! To many good Raceland teams stalled in the middle of the season because they were putting 50 on teams and not even playing a full game!! So Mike.....if your reading keep the schedule tuff hahahahaha
