Poor kid for Whitley is probably still down 3rd base line warming up. That kid had to have warmed up 5 innings and met pitch count. Don’t know why they never brought him in.

Crazy to think Whitley could’ve been 3-1 against Corbin on the season but finished 0-4. This makes 10 region championships for Corbin athletics on the season. Remarkable year for the hounds.

I'm a Corbin fan and was at the game. And I'll admit that while I was happy the hounds won, I really felt bad for Whitley's kids. Gotta be tough losing region after being up 9-1. It will probably be overlooked, but I thought the performance of the night was the the job the Gosselin did in relief. I don't think Whitley scored on him until the 7th inning.

I agree with everything you said, you had to feel for the Colonels and Goose's pitching performance was huge.

These 2 teams were very evenly matched, Corbin may have been a little more consistent defensively and possibly a little deeper on the pitching staff.

Whitley County will be a force to be reckoned with in the 13th region for the next several years.

Well said. I think they lacked pitching depth, and don't have a thing in the world to hang their heads about. I think the coach is building a solid program.

Congrats to whitley on a solid game and a great season. Once the sting from this has dissipated those kids will know what all they accomplished on a great year. Baseball is different than other sports. That's why I always like when I played the sectional game after the region was a series. So the best team would more than likely make it out. I think the region championship should be a 3 game series as well.

Whitley County did go 25-12 and played in district and region championship games. A pretty good season and an improvement over last year Smile

Solid season for Whitley, congrats to the Redhounds!

Nice run by the Colonels, especially since it took a late grand slam to get past Williamsburg in the first round of the 50th. Nice job building the program and hate to see the either school on the south end of the county miss a shot to get a title.
