Boyle County
BCHSrebs Wrote:Better to have him in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Probably even after that if he keeps coaching. Hounds had some incredibly gifted kids and what I loved most is their fight all game and NEVER gave up. Kids were refuse to lose mentality and loved it! MUCH respect for Corbin, hung out with Corbin fans pre game and had a great time!! That being said, Chuck Smith is just on a different level but has been doing it for a very long time. Coach Haddix has done a phenomenal job!! He's young and given Corbin hope. That being said please don't pretend your next 25 years will swing your way. Thats a very long tine, and I mean no disrespect by saying this but an absolutely ridiculous comment. Again no disrespect I promise. You can ask hound05 who I hung out with before state game and had a blast with them.

Yes we did!! Hope we both make it far enough to do it again. If im no mistaken if both teams advance the game would be in Corbin so you already know you and yours are more than welcome to come...... we will call it "pregame" hahahah.

Don't tell the Belfry guys but I might even get ya a good close parking spotConfusedhh: hahah.

But we'll def have to do it again because I do see both teams meeting up for another round of good football. Either way good luck to you and your son
He's to believe practice is just around the corner. 🏈😊

You are trying to recruit some Rebels. lol

Thanks man and I sure hope so. Both teams have the talent to get back there but the young men have to play ball to get there. You and the other folks I met with ya started the night off great but want to beat this as well. I sat on the Corbin side and was surrounded by a sea of red. I really enjoyed the objectionable Convo with the Corbin fans around me. Great folk, and fun to interact with them. Would sit there again. It's nice to be around folks that can say hey great play and me be able to say the same or bad call even if it went against Boyle. Said that a few times actually in that game. Appreciate ya and hope I see ya this year!
Boyle Co Boys won the 2A State Track Title today (girls did too) and the 4x100 (missed state record by .10) & 4x200 (beat state record that had stood since 1981) relay teams won titles. Also won the 4x800 relay.

Baseball team is killing it too.

It's good to be a Rebel these days.
Just remember that this does not mean that these kids and any faster than the kids at Corbin. I thought you might as well start hearing that now because I sure we will hear it next fall. LOL.
May be an opposing team fan but fan of football. If this doesn't get ya excited for the upcoming season I don't know what could. Fantastic video and love seeing these boys work so hard. Well done young men!

Several Rebels are camping and getting lots of D1 interest from schools. The next 12 months could be interesting for the program as we find out just how good the 2020 class is compared to others in program history.

Congrats to your kids. I don't care where you're from. I love seeing hard work and dedication pay off, especially for young kids. Hopefully I'll get to see them first hand in about 5 months. Til then, good luck

You too my man....with a little hard work, we'll see each other again. 👍🏻😎🏈
Quote from a fella on another site

m not exactly going out on a limb here, but if Boyle County can put anything resembling a competent offensive line on the field next season, they could run away with 3A like Secretariat at the Belmont. O-line is pretty much the only position group where the Rebels have any question marks whatsoever.

OL is a work in progress. If we choose to have kids go both ways this position group will be as good as any other....the goal however, is to not have to do that.

The pieces are there. Chuck will make it happen one way or another.

....and the Rebels go rolling along.
Based on what I've seen and talking to your son he appears to be running for his life every snap and asked him that. That being said we were terrible at scrimmage game last year. Coached seemed to figure it out and they did what they did. Our coaches are best and incredible teachers.
Well from an opponents perspective, I’m glad that Oline from last year won’t be there. I’ve never seen a line block as on unit as I have them. The most disciplined line I’ve seen since I can remember in HS. I know a lot of it was talent but it took a Line coach to get them to accomplish that. Our Dline didn’t have much trouble with anyone all year until that game.
Chuck Norris / Chuck Smith/ same thang Smile
Reese Smith received his first D1 offer from the University of Cincinnati Bearcats! Congrats Reese...more to come.

Other offers for teammates coming too.

You've hit on something right there. 6 champs a year. Usually there is a slightly higher/different level that champions play at. A lot of people just think you can play the same KIND of football you're used to, just be better at it than usual and win the big one. That is not the case most times. Most times the champ is doing some phase or more than one phase on a DIFFERENT level than most people.

This is why you have so many repeat champs and why teams don't often win it the first time they get there. They get there and experience something like you're describing and the light bulb comes on and "oh!, we have to do THAT". Then if you have enough talent to get back you will be in better position to match up.
Reese Smith gets offer #2 from Troy University....that's a great opportunity w/Neal Brown!
#3 today from Austin Peay
Reese and Landon will not be the only 2 players on this years team to get D1 offers before their time is up at Boyle.
Very proud of BCHS QB Reed Lanter. Competed in QB challenge in Louisville today with kids from all over the state. Was really fun to watch and to watch other QBs from other teams that I prob would never get to see. Result at the end is Reed won. If I weren't one if the dumb people with a smart phone I would post a video but I leave that up to another BC fan to do. Proud if Reed more for who he is as a person but also for how hard he works. Congrats young man!

Do you have the overall standings and maybe a list of the things they competed in?
I do not, sorry. My son is a receiver so I don't even know what all the drills were called. I do know the kid from Moore high school threw the longest ball, 62 yards I think. Matter of fact did it twice. There were many drills having to do with accuracy on the run. My favorite was the last drill. Hit up close non moving targets then hit a gold cart with a bullseye on it as it drive across the field. Second stage of gold cart just further out and then try and hit a (what looked like) a 3x3 basket in front corner of end zone. Sorry I'm not much help. I will try to find results for all. I looked and didn't appear to be uploaded yet.
Per twitter:

Reed Lanter (Boyle Co) - 23 points (won 2/3 events)

Joby Jaggers (Caldwell Co) - 16 points (got second by accuracy contest score)

Rae Von Vaden (Lou Moore) - 16 points (won long throw...63 yards)
Will say this. If Reed wasn't in it I probably wouldn't have gone bit realized how much I enjoyed watching other young men compete as well. I live in Louisville and even if Reed is not in it next year, I will probably go just to watch young talent across the state that I might never see. Steffan lefours puts on a great program in my opinion. Has retired NFL QBs there as well as NFL QB coach currently for the bears.

Thanks man, not gifted in the Twitter and smart phone area.
2020 Class is Epic

Reese, EZ Roller, Lanter just epic
FoSho Wrote:Yes

Every TD scored by the Rebels in the semifinals and finals was done so by a Sophomore. Leading tackler, one of the two best DT and QB were all sophomores.

Loaded at the skill positions for the foreseeable future.

OL/DL has some players but there are holes to fill no doubt.

Things look great for Boyle Co Football.

I agree, they are doing quite great.
Grant Hotchkiss has been inserted at outside receiver opposite of Reese Smith this season. All I'm going to say about that is....wow. 😳
