Christen Cunningham played at Cordia has committed to play for Louisville his senior year. He was injured all last year and did not play at samford. He graduated and will be elidigible as a graduate transfer. Always good to see a player who played in the 14th play big time ball!

So now you all want to claim him as part of the 14th when all you guys did was ridicule him when he was there. Congrats! but he graduated from Henry Clay.

The reason he graduated from Henry clay is when he came here Alice Whitaker hired his mom on a grant ant the grant ended in April when it was over share had no job to keep here I would have left too. But the bottom line is he played his senior year at Cordia and his mom and him have kept in contact with several people on the creek.

I'm not knocking the kid but this sounds like recruiting to me. You bring in a kid, offer his parent(s) a job and once the kid graduates, the parent(s) leave too...recruitment all over it...

Did it ever occur to you that maybe the kid just wanted to play with other good athletes how about just give a kid that played in the 14th region a congrats!! Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I think that's the biggest offer from m anyone in the 14th since Jonny cox!

And people can send their children where they want as well.
Cunningham was seriously recruited by Harvard, so I'd imagine that he and those close to him (e.g., his Mom, etc.) have their heads on straight considering. I don't know specifics, nor do I really intend for this to be something where people elaborate further on them, but I'd venture a guess that, if what's already been stated is true, being a competitive applicant for a job in the region wouldn't be out of the question.
Not saying this to you personally (but instead just a general comment), but I've heard a lot of people saying things like, " 'School X' just brings in kids from 'Town Nearby School X', but Cordia is getting kids from everywhere". Last time I checked though, the Lexington-area is much closer to the 14th than Philadelphia, Houston, or New York.

Ben bowling got a lot of big offers. Tubby smith came to watch him play 4 times when he was a junior at perry central and tubby was at Kentucky. Shannon Hoskins had some big offers too.

I would say Camron Justice playing at Vanderbilt.

Ben bowling was a good player but he did not go anywhere playing college ball requires more than just athletic ability Hoskins did have some big time offers but signed with South Carolina, a good school but putting their program in the same class as Louisville is crazy. Louisville has been a top 10 program in the country for. The last 30 years. Louisville has won championships.

Vanderbilt is a good school no doubt, but you seriously can't put them in the same class as Louisville.

Will this kid see the floor at Louisville especially coming off an injury? And I'd put Vanderbilt up there with Louisville (Not quit as good as U of L but pretty dang close). Vandy has beaten UK several times when nobody else hardly has. But anyway, congratulations Christian.

Ben bowling had offers from most of the colleges in the country. He went to oak hill academy, got in trouble then went to a prep school in Florida and led them in scoring and a #6 national ranking. If he would have stayed straight he was a high d-1 prospect and he still signed with Tulane. And I think in the original post they said "the biggest offer" not where they went. And I seen bowling and Cunningham play and bowling was three times as good.
We could also throw jaysean Paige in the mix. He ended up at West Virginia for 2 years and a #6 in the nation ranking and led them in scoring. Cunningham not at his level either.

Only has a year to play and is eligible immediately, so I would imagine so, at least situationally.
Doesn't make much sense to bring him in if they don't have a plan for him, IMO.
Agree with the majority of everything that you stated as well.

From the link above, it looks like he was at least targeted by Oregon State and Ohio State as well, and had visited both over the last few weeks.

Henry Clay doesn't have any athletes? When a school offer's a kid's parents or guardian a job and their kid goes to that school, that's nothing but recruitment.

Actually if you knew his history he played for 4 different high schools so it sounds like to me he was trying to find a better deal for himself. His family was shopping him around no the other way around. He played high school ball for Sayre,Scott co,Henry clay, and Cordia.

That should have been made clear in the original post other than they offered his mom a job and got him to come play basketball.

Are you kidding? Henry Clay probably would have won the State if he had stayed!
Momma Cunningham got suckered in by the slick talking rhodes, but she got him off the creek before his diploma read cordia!

Henry clay would not have done much more than they did. His mother did not like the coach she said he would not try to help the kids. She said he thought too small he had CC lined up with a bunch of NAIA schools and was not trying to get him anything bigger. The Cunninghams approached Lawrence Thomas at the KBA that summer and wanted to come and play on that team. They though they would have Malik Hines( who is currently playing at UMASS. ) Malik ended up leaving about a week before the judge ruled chapman and Ortiz elidigible. If he would have stayed he would have been cleared with them. He was enrolled at Cordia for nearly a year and only played summer ball. He was a big time post player 6'10" with skills.

Henry Clay only lost by 6 points to the State Runner up Scott county in the 11 region final. I Believe CC was good for more than 6 points!

I think they played under an injunction. A judge canât rule you eligible only the khsaa and i donât know if Hines would have even got that but he was a really good player

If that were actually the case, he would have stayed at Scott County. His mother wanted the Scott County coach to guarantee Christian a starting position. Billy Hicks response was, "I wouldn't guarantee Michael Jordan a starting position. He will start if he earns the position."
