Was looking at ESPN Top 100 earlier and decided to look at our state rankings.

Christian Lorng is listed at number 3 (there's only three players listed) and attends Wesley Christian in Allen, KY.

Anyone with info on this player and school?

Don't think he played for Wesley this past season, he played for Hargrave but was at Wesley the previous 2-3 years. He just recently committed to Wake Forest.

I've never heard of this school. Do they compete in KHSAA sanctioned basketball or KCSAA?

I think they just play club ball at the moment. They originally planned to be a KHSAA member team, but I think they had to have a full graduating class or something first.

Ky Christian gets a lot of kids academically ineligible to play in schools governed by the KHSAA. Have problems with their paperwork if they are from overseas. Wesley gets a lot of really good athletes. Wesley may be the next Cordia if they the do get into the KHSAA.

Wesley doesn't want to be in the KHSAA, they are essentially a prep school.

Wesley Christian is actually not or will never be part of the KHSAA for the reason being they recruit (and actually admit they recruit unlike others.)

They are a Nike Elite School and have awesome facilities. Alot of their kids are international and their school is NCAA approved and a lot of colleges recruit their kids. It's higher level basketball than your normal run of the mill high school. They compete with the Oak Hill Academy and Huntington Prep's of the world. NO FIFTH YEAR KIDS. They actually beat Huntington Prep last year when HP was ranked #4 in the country. Wesley Christian was in 2017 ranked #14 in the country and won a christian national title in high school so how you haven't heard of them is beyond me.

Christian Lorng had offers from everyone basically and finished at Hargrave after Dave Meddings (head coach) left for a job overseas. He came back for next and is stocking up again. Like really well!

One of the states top scorers is actually visiting Wesley next week is what the coach told me! Gonna be big news, you'll know who Wesley is then.

They have had 6 full graduating classes at wesley christian already so that's not true. wesley had a student that graduated with an associates degree last year before graduating hs he took so much dual credit. he's now a rhoades scholar at UK.

It's a small school located in Allen, KY near prestonsburg and has a 3.6 million dollar new gym too.

This all seems crazy to me to be in Allen, KY. At the same time, I love it. Never understood why EKY didn't have an "Oak Hill" type place with all the Clevangers of the area roaming around.
