Congratulations to Caudill, Bonny, and Stone - speaks well of the 14th region to have three players on the All-State team. That is a really big honor for these young men, and from what I have observed from the stands watching them play, and heard from others, they are all 3 really great kids and represent their school and community in a very positive way.

Congrats to all elected. Special congrats to Andrew Taylor.

Good enough to be all state second team last year, all state first team this year, finish top 20 career rebounds and top 3 career for scoring.. but not good enough to ever win 13th region player of the year. LOL. Love seeing him make first team!

Congrats to all the players chosen, but I have a hard time respecting this poll when he’s not even MENTIONED. Josh Moore said only on two ballots and that eastern Kentucky was “as well represented as other regions of the state” in terms of how many returned ballots. I have to see that to believe it. If true, then the voters were blind, crooked, and/or just blatantly favoring other players. I’m a Pikeville fan he’s, but any objective person could plainly see he deserves to be on this. For the record, I thought JR Tackett deserved to be as well. At least HM

Simple on Bataille, who in eastern ky likes Pikeville except Pikeville???? Sad but so true, maybe they have earned being so disliked I just do not know.... I have always heard this though, and I do not live there. And must confess I am one of the dislikers...

I'm absolutely shocked Bataille isnt mentioned. How in the world he isn't on this list somewhere I'll never know.

As a Belfry fan and supporter, when we're not playing Pikeville I'm cheering for Pikeville. And I'm not the only one. Most of the Belfry fans I know, and I know most of them, feel the same way. Even if what your saying is true it still should not sway a commitee of grown adults to take it out on a teenage kid just because they don't like a program. I really hope that wasn't the case.

Even though I have a son that plays for LCC and support them, I canât believe that Kareem McDonald wasnât mentioned. Keita was good and all players listed were deserving but McDonald should have been listed before others from the Region.

I'm assuming the same way a Mr. Kentucky basketball candidate didn't make this list.
I too agree that Mr. Tackett should have made this list as well.

Let's be real... one All-State player who wasn't Regional POY was his own undoing with multiple incidents. No one to blame but himself.
If any player listed takes an entitled or punk attitude to a D1 program, it will not be a very pleasant year there (if it even lasts that long). It isn't high school.
Played a lot of softball with guys who played high level D1 football while they were still in school, and if you were pulling some of that stuff, you might as well have put a bounty on yourself for a teammate who didn't like your attitude to light you up in practice.

You havenât been a Pikeville fan since, I donât know, about three years ago! Lol. Youâre so green with envy, it really is fun for us to watch you guys. I mean, some of your bunch couldnât even stay and watch the Panthers play against JH in the state tourny! Lol.

I think you also do a disservice to a kid when you give him an award where he knows, as well as everyone else knows the award was given to him because of an incident because people feel pity for him. But thatâs just me. Glad they got the all state awards right.

Typical Corbin attitude. No one felt "pity" for him. He was the next most deserving player. It's an embarrassment to the region as a whole when your POY is known more for what he's done off the court.
Frustration that he had to deal with stupidity and racism.... sure.
The Player of the Year Award out of pity? Nah.

It'd definitely suck to be outside of the community known for it's racism that treats him like the victim and has condoned that type of behavior, as they've repeatedly shown.
Lest we forget that this also wasn't his first incident either.

The âmost deservingâ is laughable. For a popularity contest..? Sure, I guess. But again, Iâm sure one player enjoyed being home holding his pity award knowing the media felt bad for him while the other led his team to the elite 8 and first team all state.

I believe I said "next most deserving". Reading comprehension matters.
College is going to be quite the learning experience for the kid. Won't be able to get away with some of the things that were put up with in Corbin. I doubt many college fans see a black player getting an award and automatically assume it to be out of "pity".... but that's just me.
Maybe people want to see him succeed as much as they want to see Ben Roethlisberger be NFL MVP for a reason.

Also wanted to add: terrible PR by not accepting his regional award just adds to the reputation. If I were his Coach, he'd have done so or faced punishment, but then again if I were a Coach I'd go nuts if my fans were waving nooses at the other team, so maybe I'm just all progressive. I guess I'm enlightened after reading Leigh Steinberg's Winning With Integrity. Books by guys with last names like Steinberg are probably banned from Corbin schools though.

Vent it out big guy. Your softball buddies are probably tired of hearing about it and how many books you read. Get that tension out. Weâre here to listen
