Rockcastle County 2018
#1
Rockcastle County lost 9 seniors from the 2017 8-4 team, but they return its leading rusher Jaden Payne. How will the rockets do in 2018?

I wish them the best of luck down at Rock. I'll probably be at a few games this season rooting them on since I no longer have a college player playing. I'll be the one at the top of the east bank with the cow bells ringing. Go Rock!

Heard that a Big Time Asst may be on the move, maybe following someone's footsteps!

Coaching staff is the same as last season, but have added a player or two that will play big roles on the team

9 games? I know Clay is not going to play Rock in 2019-2020, Clay is "rebuilding" but I didn't think it was that bad that they would drop out of the district play. But I saw them a couple of times last season and can see why they would do that. BANG!! DDE

looking to add a game in September was Somerset but dont think they are playing as of now. clay has had some athletes, the just need some consistency in the program.

This is true from what I can tell. But anywho, I look for it to be a rough game for the Tigers, especially since Clay refuses to play them after this year. Will be bad, should be bad. BANG!! DDE

Rock used to be great. It will be fun to see them get good again! I'd like to see them and the Bell County pick up the old rivalry again.

Rock and Bell will be in the same district in 2019

Rumor Has It... You don't pay attention to alot. You do realize that Rock is 18 & 6 over the last 2 year and will be in the same district with Bell starting in 2019? :dudecomeon:

Rock is solid but if what i hear is true they could take a step back. Hard to replace a legendary coach who is an asst coach to another local program.

Why are you on that family so hard with the sarcasm? A lot of people probably didn't pick up on what you were doing in the posts you made about his son in the Perry and P'burg threads but some people did. Why don't you back off?

What are you talking about. Rock has had the same coaching staff for the last 10 years

I don't have a problem with this family. They have helped me in my coaching career and continue to this day. They are great people. Think you are reading my post wrong. I am sorry if you took it the wrong way.

According to the record books, they haven't had the same coach more than 2 or 3 years. So I doubt that it has been the same staff for 10 years.

Rumor Has It... They only have 2 coaches on staff, that have been there longer than 4 years.

Assuming Martin is still assistant coaching and Parkey is head coaching this fall, both have been coaching there since 2008 in those capacities. Parkey was an assistant coach before that under Larkey. I'm pretty sure Martin was too. Parkey did time as the middle school coach as well. I don't know about Martin, but, I think he was assistant coach before the exodus of the Larkey family.

That would be ten years at the very least on the staff. Fact: I was there spring 2008 in the locker room with my son in the locker room the moment Parkey was announced head coach of the team by the principal in front of the team at a weight lifting practice. Better add six to those four years at the least. They've been there more than ten.

Heard the boys have been working hard in the weigh room and have been buying in. Hopefully they will have a good season this year. Heard we have two new transfers that could help out anyone know how accurate that is?
