How in the world is one ref that was a Corbin graduate, and another ref that is currently a coach at Corbin and principal at a Corbin school, allowed to ref a game that determines who play Corbin in the sweet 16? No dog at all in this fight, but that just seems unbelievable to me. Heads should definitely roll over that decision.

That is a good question. Seem like it would be conflict of interest to have him ref this game. He seem to make calls that makes a fan question the call.

But a ref should not call a game that determines the school you work for next game. Just make people question him even more. All calls are question by fans that is not the point. That somebody would allowed him to call that game knowing he work for corbin.

Estill is a good team but Corbin will win game by 15 or more. Than Trinity or Scott County winner beat Corbin by 12 or more.

Referees, although you can say otherwise and you’ll be wrong, are not as impactful as many think. There are many points of the game (decisions about strategy, missed shots, line up decisions) all which are more impactful than anything the referees might do.

Although that may not be your point, my point along with other arguments, makes yours moot. Just because someone is associated with a place (Corbin) doesn’t mean they can’t put aside any bias to call a game. Even jurors are allowed to know a little about a case or have a touch of bias concerning a decision if they can agree to set that aside and make a fair verdict. Our court system uses it, so can the KHSAA. Trust me, they’ve been in court enough to know.

All of that being said....

Corbin would be favorited over either team who happened to win tonight. And either winner of the Corbin v. 14th game an underdog against Scott Co. or Trinity.

So it might not be your point, but it truly:

A. Is wrong
AND
B. Doesn’t matter

in every game that i have every watch over the years. there is always at less 5 calls, that fans will always question. but in the 14th region the fans will question every call that go again there team. so what the problem. by what i have watch of the games. the refs call it like they do in the 13th regions, go watch a few 13th region games next season.

Corbin will beat Estill by 25+. Nothing against Estill, but South would've beat Estill that bad at this point in the season.

I think this is totally unfair to an Estill County team that proved it belonged at the top of the 14th tonight. KCC didn’t look past Estill, they were outplayed by a better team who had the best player in the region.

Being there before isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially when most of these guys from Knott (exception to Caudill) weren’t contributors to all those teams who made the runs to the Sweet 16.

Bentley had a game plan and executed it perfectly and they deserve all the credit for winning the championship. They won it, Knott didn’t lose it.

I watched the game on tv but it seemed as if Knott got in foul trouble trying to chase the ball and trap!! However none of them ever fouled out and their were a couple of plays where Caudill and one of the Couch twins probably should have fouled out! So don't try to start conspiracy theories! Lord knows I'm not a fan of 13th Region officials!! The best team won tonight accept it! It was not the Patriots year! FatPat will have to go on a tater diet to get ready for next season! Funny you had a fan from 13th region who put this question on the thread. So I think he might know more than rest of us. I was with fans from 13th made the same point at the game. I hope Estill fo great at state being from 14th region but I dont see them staying within 15 points of Corbin.

i went to PCC, does that mean I like PCC. when I went there, I can them PCC COMMOWHORES (COMMODORES). it take me all of two sec to come up with that my 7th grade year, when they all use the name of the new school.

by what you just said, 80% of the games PCC beat Hazard in the district should be in question. because 2/3 of the refs was from PCC, have a kids at PCC, a kid playing sports at PCC, or went to one of the two school they close to make PCC. that is what you are saying.

Just asking who picks the refs to call final game. The best ref in last three games was the female ref and she dont get pick to call the final game. Not right she is one of the best ref around.
