Andrew Taylor snubbed by media?

cherokee Wrote:I have great respect for you sir for being a man and standing up could you list the other people who voted for all of us to see.

I’m not in the media, but why is it important to see who voted against Taylor. Point is, it is what it is. If anything sounds like it’s opening the door for certain people to be harassed for not voting for Saint Andrew

For a fan base who wanted the issue to go away and accused other fan bases of stirring the pot for discussing it-- starting this discussion seems contrary to what you were asking for awhile back.

If Knox Central or South Laurel had won region, I think there'd be fewer people using the "best player on the team that won region" criteria right about now.

You won and are going to Rupp-- enjoy it. Don't make your fan base the laughingstock of the region and the punchline of the rest of the State's jokes again by starting threads with labels like "Fake News" and opening a can of worms on a racial issue (again), or at least if you do, then please don't complain about what you get when that discussion happens.

Now go fold up your Corbin C sweatshirt lol

I don't like Corbin, but I do like watching you cry after you lose to them. lol

Absolutely. Best person? Not likely. I don't have a coach either. Wish I did. Unfortunately it's just bosses nowadays.

The award is for player of the year not personality of the year.

I think it’s pretty obvious you’ve sold out to Redhound nation.

Hey Redhound fan, it’s human nature not to overlook what a jerk this young man could be. It wasn’t just comments to the KC players. Similar jabs were made to Jared Grubb and JJ last year.

The only thing that is obvious is Corbin beat you tonight and you're having a tough time accepting it.

Or player 2:

Maybe all the Mr. Basketball voters out in the State will recognize that he's 3rd on the All-Time Scoring List and just passed a recent Mr. Basketball in Cameron Justice and reward him with Mr. Basketball honors.

Or.... Corbin fans will continue to talk about how everyone is out to get their golden boy. That is another award that is voted on by others-- and what they think of you matters-- like it or not.

If true, not being humble enough to accept a first team all-region award doesn't go a very long way in showing that someone has grown. If I'm his college coach and I hear that, I'm probably not happy and I worry about that type of attitude.

Sometimes life is about putting on a smile and sucking it up, especially when you've already given others reason to want to see you fall.

Eh, you’re just a South hating troller. This is probably the happiest you’ve been in 15 years or more.

Taylor may have been the best player but he is no where near a good person. He shows that every time he steps on the floor. If he don’t grow up a lot before next year that colorfull team at the next level will take care of the growing up problem for him. Talent only goes so far, being a good person and talented is what all great athletes should try to be. I’m more proud of kids for being good people then I am for them being good at sports. He is a corbin person, lol. They won a region and no one cares but that box or a town on the side of 25 before u get to 75. Congrats. People will love Taylor at the next level. He’s special!! Lol!!

I don’t know the kid personally but I am not going to take away or poo poo his accomplishments due to a stupid mistake. Turner too is a great player. He is an absolute joy to watch but Andrew is a once in a generation type player. The 13th region has had many great players but Taylor is in the Richie Farmer and Charles Thomas caliber.

Again, i don’t know him so I’ll not comment on his character. He’s 19 but he’s still a kid to me seeing as he is in high school. I hope he has learned from past mistakes and grows to be a fine man, but as a player, he’s as good as any.

Yep he is a one of a kind player that played 2 great games to win a region and yes he will probably grow out of his current ways but really as refs and coach’s you just can’t let things like that happen on the floor. Set a line as coach’s and refs. Talk trash don’t be trash! Refs and coach’s are to blame for Taylor’s attitude on the floor. But all that matters is he can play the game! What a backwards state of mind we have.

The jealousy of anything Corbin related on thus board is unreal.

As a Clay Co. fan I don't like Corbin and never will like Corbin. As a basketball fan Andrew Taylor is hands down the best player in the region. Yes he may be cocky......yes he may have an ego but a lot of people that get on this site and post do as well. I've seen teams win regional championships or tournament championships and refuse to cut down the net because they wanted the real championship. Not sure the motives on not accepting his all region award but it doesn't really matter.........the point is.....Taylor is a better basketball player than Turner.....Turner may be more respectful and not as cocky..... but on the court I'd take Andrew Taylor any day of the week.
#54
The kid has a poor attitude no doubt. You will see later in his career it will show mark it down. He can play but ask big time coaches and people about a bad attitude. They don’t want anywhere near it. Sorry.

Doesn’t hurt when you have Stewart and Chase Sanders playing alongside either.

You keep referring to his attitude as you continually complain about losing to him. That is backward thinking and poor sportsmanship. I don't like losing to Corbin either, But I congratulate them and move on when it happens instead of obsessing over it.

As if Turner doesn’t have Adams, Martin, Imel, Turner, Carton. Heard all year how talented this KC bunch was, it’s crazy how once they lost they turned into an average team.

Not a KC fan, but my observation was Corbin had a better supporting cast. Just my opinion

PioneerBlue Wrote:The jealousy of anything Corbin related on thus board is unreal.

I would say intense dislike instead of jealousy because of the way they win. If you live in the tri county area you would have more understanding why. 4 of the kids that started last night for Corbin are transfers into the program. 2 from the county, 1 from south Laurel, 1 from lca. That's just how they do things to win at any sport. That's why they are very disliked outside the city limits of Corbin. If they didn't get these kids that are talented from other schools they never would win much cause the homegrown talent is well not very good, that's why they go get mommy or daddy jobs at or in Corbin to get the talent. If it works keep doing it, khsaa doesn't mind.

Not that I think it has a prayer, but if HB 242 ever passed the Kentucky General Assembly, the hand wringing from Corbin would be the ultimate lesson in karma
