The 15th region tournament bracket
#31
Another reason the Expo needs to go..... The profit sharing.

I don't know the minutia, but I do know that every team in the 15th region, no matter if they have a team represented or not, gets a share of the generated profits.

There is no reason why schools that don't have a boys or girls team in the tournament should get a share of the profit.

Last season, the Piarist school forfeited their opening round district game and went on a skiing trip. They got their share of the district & regional money. IMO, this is wrong.

East Ridge, Magoffin County, The Piarist school, Betsy Layne, Jenkins & Phelps do not have either of their teams in the regional tournament, but they will still get a share of the profits. They do not have to worry about team, cheerleader/dance team, band & pep buses. No money spent out if their budget. Then take a school like Johnson Central. Tonight will be the fifth night they have took team, cheerleader/dance team, band and pep buses. I know teams have to travel to the arena, but the schools that are actually playing need to split the profits. In theory, there can be only one team from every 15th region school in either the boys or girls tournament. That has never happened. This year, only four schools sent only one team, the rest sent both boys & girls. The other twelve teams are represented from the same schools.

Look at it this way if the region was being played at ether of the four schools that are playing tonight that’s a advantage the way we got it it’s not as for the money if the AD’s and Principles are ok with sharing the money why should you or I care
#33
And I do agree with you at about the money but evidently the schools don’t care

Personally I love having the Regional Tourney at the Expo every year and hopefully it stays there. Then again I live in the Belfry area and it's a short easy drive Smile

I love it at the Expo, just concession prices.
JC should love it there. They have played in 6 or 7 straight championships
#37
The concession prices are ridiculous for sure.

Pikeville has a few good restaurants though and hitting one of them up before the game solves the concession stand prices for me anyways. Heck even as terrible as McDonald's is I would hit up 1 of the 3 McDonald's in town before the game to avoid the concession prices lol.

We get it. You hate the Expo. Don’t come.

It’s just old seeing every other post from you complaining about it. The ONLY thing I’m agreeing with you about is the concession prices and the profit sharing. BUT the Expo does t really set that. The whole reason for the profit sharing is the same reason the Pike County Bowl has to start inviting the other county teams to play. The other schools want to have their cake and eat it too.

Otherwise there is no reason to hate the Expo as much as you do. It’s almost unhealthy, dude.
