14th region 2018
#1
What's the 14th looking like next year?

Who's returning players?
Who lost their top players?
#2
Estill and Perry both return the bulk of their talent....Estill losses 3 and Perry losses 1 from this year's team.

Powell will be much improved.

I think Leslie losses a lot? Someone correct me?

I'm not sure about the rest
#3
Wolfe will return 6 starters.
They lose the pitcher, and the corners.
Pitcher being their bigest loss.
#4
Leslie will lose 8 players.
Letcher will lose 4 players.
#5
Breathitt returns all 9 starters.
Jackson returns 8 starters.
Knott returns 7 starters including the pitcher.
Hazard will be much better next year.
#6
Should make for another fantastic 14th region
#7
Region is at Estill County next season

Any news on any potential openings in the 14th?

I hear that PCC will have a chance to win region in three sports. Girls and Boys B-Ball, as well as softball. What an exciting year for the Dores.

I'd have to give the edge to Estill because of their dominance and they are the regional host this coming season.

1. Estill
2. PCC
3. Wolfe
4. Powell - They lost their best player in Lexi Brewer
5. Knott Central
6. Hazard

Leslie lost 7 from last year. Letcher lost 4.

Here's my prediction for fun. I actually watched most of these teams play last year and saw their athletes and pitching. Not relying on history, past reputation, personal bias, or location.

1) Perry Central
2) Knott Central
3) Wolfe
4) Estill
5) Letcher Central
6) Lee County
7) Jackson City
8) Leslie
9) Hazard
10) Breathitt County

Those top 5 teams should be really good. Not sure why Hazard is so far down? I thought they returned quite a few?

Estill/Perry Central and Estill/Letcher Central regular season games this season should be good ones.

Yes Hazard returns quite a few----from a team that went 4-19 last year!

One would think with the ones they return that they would be ranked a little higher instead of 10th

fatpatfan the head coach of the softball teams isn't even named Jimmy?
#23
Hazard will be an improved team from last year. I don't think we are top 5 by any means but we will surprise a few of you.
#24
I gotta think Estill and Perry will be a little ahead of the rest. Wolfe will be their only threat. The rest of us will be playing for wins and losses. Knott will be solid and Hazard will be the most improved. Letcher took a hard loss with their grads, but Leslie took the biggest hit.

I don't know who Mr. McAlister is, but I don't agree with some of his rankings. I just don't see Letcher county as a third ranked team after losing some major key players last year including their pitcher. They will be much younger and will be in a rebuilding mode. Also, I think Lee county will be a much better team than some of the teams ranked higher than them. Estill is at the top this year and Perry is definitely number 2. Knott has good pitching, but they are yet to establish themselves as a regional contender. Outside of number 1 and 2, the region could be like the men's basketball Southeastern Conference this year. Any team could beat the other on any given night. At least it will make it fun to watch as a spectator.

Are there any games being played this week?
#30
How does the new coaching hire at Perry affect them?
