Very good Coach, Was Coach of year in 2009 at Lawrence Co. Beat Us ( McCreary Central) to go to 11-0 before Bell beat him. Would be a great hire for PCC.:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Ovie is the most deserving person and he genuinely loves this team. He's always there, every evening if the boys want to come. He's done a lot more than Larkey.

I don't think that's all that fair to say.
For a team that won 5 games combined in the three years prior, the team made a lot of strides under Ovie and Larkey last year. Yeah, they struggled deep in the season against some tough teams, a few injuries/suspensions and a team where everyone is playing both ways against 5A schools with deep rosters.
Things are definitely trending up at Perry Central and it's hard to deny that.

Yes there is a new coach at PCC. I'm not confirming the identity yet until that coach finishes up some details, as is his right.

It is unclear, to ME anyway, if Ovie is going to have any part on this coaching staff. IMO, it would be a terrible shame if he didn't at least retain his current position.

And Bigballerbrand, out of the many many games I attended while Ovie was helping coach I never once heard him make accusatory statements against a player. He may have yelled at an official a time or two, but the impression you are trying to portray of him is just wrong!!

Cabell Midland got a runner-up in 2012. Thats all I have saw. But a Runner-up is pretty good.

I don't know why everyone is being so secretive. It's no secret who the new coach is. He's been here twice this week, yesterday with his family. They toured West Perry and East Perry, as they have 2 young kids who will enroll at one of the schools. They talked to some of the staff at both schools. Hazard is a small town, word spreads like wildfire.

One of the football players was told by a school employee yesterday that an announcement might not come for a couple more weeks. Said Salmons had to go back and talk to his school and team and settle things there first.

Is his wife from the area or something? For the life of me, I just don't understand this move for him unless he's trying to leverage something out of CM or he's done something to get ran out. No knock on Perry Central but CM is a better football job in every aspect. If this is indeed true.

I saw on another website that the Super was seen in the Huntington Mall today after sealing the deal with Salmons.

When the news breaks it tonight they will be a big ol lip dragging tomorrow. It's a done deal the papers have been faxed. Just waiting to set up a press conference. Hopefully they will put it live on the perry county website. Good job Jett. Very good hire👍👍👍👍
