Whose favorite to win 14th region?

Looks like Knott and PCC are the 2 top dawgs right now. Hazard been up and down like a teeter totter, Leslie been doing better, Breathitt is improving, Cordia has the talent, and Estill is good at times.

I'll go with Perry Central with a slim edge due to the Region being held at Perry. It should be them and Knott Central in the finals depending on how the draw turns out. Estill County or Cordia could also make a run to the championship game. My predictions for the District Tournaments:

53rd-Knott over Cordia.
54th-Perry Central over Hazard.
55th-Breathitt County over Wolfe County.
56th-Estill County over Powell County.

With the additions back to Cordia's team for the end of the season run, I look for them to be a hard out for any team in the 14th. Could be a Knott/Cordia final. Perry/Hazard/Estill will all have to play extremely well to beat both of them in back to back nights. The draw will be very important, as usual. Good luck to all the teams.

I think we may see some upsets in first round district tournaments. Iâm calling it first. Leslie knocks PCC off first round, and if Buckhorn has all their players healthy, they knock Hazard off. JMO

Hard to tell.
I think Knott has been the better team this year, but Perry could be tough on their home court.

Perry/Leslie will be a tough game in the first round. Perry has beaten them twice (once soundly) but none of that matters come tourney time.

I'd put Estill over Cordia, simply because of Franklin County. Estill dominated Franklin County by 20, while Franklin County dominated Cordia by 12. Both were on neutral courts.

Color me unimpressed by Perry County Central. Loss to Clay County and recently only beat a 5-16 Harlan Independent team at home by 6. Unless there's something others know about PCC that I don't, they probably won't be the team that I pick to come out of the 14th.

If I had to pick today, Estill County or Cordia would probably be the teams I looked at longest if I were doing a pool, just because of the value that a dark horse/sleeper pick might have while everyone else was picking Knott Central.

Perry Central being the host gives them the advantage. No dominate team...so the team that gets hot...main player that gets into foul trouble...the coach that makes the best adjustments...an injury or sickness.
Who can win three games? Pcc, Kcc, Estill, Hazard, Wolfe, Breathitt, Cordia...

Well considering Cordiaâs starting two guards, #1 and #2 in there lineup, did not play in the Franklin Co game... anyone who has watched both teams play will say Cordia has the edge

The main reason you will put estil over Cordia is because you are an estill fan. All seriousness if you want to look at it that way in the Franklin co game Cordia did not have Kareem McDonald or Darien Pringle (their leading scorer and starting point guard #2 scorer) Oumar Keta had the flu and was not even going to play but decided to play because they were really short handed they only dressed 8 players that game and 2 of those never get any varsity action. Also Ramon Mercedo was not there. If you want to look at the it with the common opponent way Cordia just beat Letcher on their home floor by 20 Estill co beat Letcher co at home by 2 on a last second shot in overtime. Cordia has 3 losses this year where they did not have their full line up or they win those games. Pikeville lost by 2 without Pringle,Keta,Mercado. Perry co Pringle,mercado and Franklin co did not have McDonald, Pringle,or mercado.

Someone has to win 3 games in a row, and for Estill to win the region, they will have to beat 3 good teams in no particular order because of the draw, Perry or Hazard, Cordia, and Knott. Will be very difficult road for them. Perry is at home, so they get a little of an edge, but they will still have to beat Cordia and Knott to get to Rupp. Should be a fun week! :Cheerlead:Cheerlead:Cheerlead

Leslie is playing as hot as anyone in the 14th right now. Beating hazard by 18 and was up 35 on Breathitt last night until they subbed down. Perry has recently only beat hazard by 1 and Breathitt played them with in 5. Leslie senior dominated team is out for blood. Coach Day has them at their best at the right time.
