Cordia 68 Letcher County Central 48
#1
Final

Congrats to Cordia.

Cordia barely beat Letcher in the first go around. This one, or at least the score, was much different. Is this team playing together or did Letcher have a bad night?

Cordia may not have wanted to show LCC much either Cordia is starting to gel right now. Honestly they didn't do anything but just run up and down the floor and play street ball. Keta didn't even play the second half. Cordia did D them up full court and LCC threw it all over the floor LCC had over 20 turnovers on the game. Cordia just out athleted them.

We will see three weeks from now how this plays out. LCC had a bad game but you won’t see the score that one sided again I guarantee that. Cordial is athletic but let’s face it McDonald is their only real offensive threat and I think you will see a different team 😏

Cordia has recently added a old player that left and came back. It’s sad that their school leaders just let this kid come back after everything he has already done. It shows that the only thing they care about is winning. What does that tell the kids that have been there all year? Hey this kid that has quit our team numerous times but he is a little better than some of you so we are going to let him come back for the last 5 or 10 games of the season.

Totally agree! Once you quit on your teammates and school you should not be allowed to play there anymore. It is also sad that local kids there don’t get an opportunity to play basketball because of the recruiting that goes on there. Nothing against the Cordia players there currently, they deserve to play basketball and are very talented young men but these schools should not be allowed to recruit at the high school level.

If you really want to know the truth before the kid ever came back the team had a meeting and the coach let the players decide if they wanted him back. The team voted him back. People don't know what this kid has gone through in the last year off the court it has been tragic the kids understand better than most adults.

I wouldn't say he is their only offensive he does require a lot of attention and that frees up other players Ramon Mercedo the player in question that has returned add a lot to cordia's team he was their second leading scorer last year behind McDonald. I know things change in tournament play and games get a little tighter but Cordia is starting to come together at the right time and had much rather be in Cordia shoes going into the tournament than in LCC.
