Quick question... can someone help with the answer or give me a website where I can find it.
How long does a player have to play on a team to be eligible to play in the OVC tournament?

There is no set time or number of games a player has to play in if he moves or comes into a school. The only rule in the league is if a player is at that school and plays up on the high school teams then they must play in half of his teams league games to be eligible to play in the post season tournament.

So you are saying that a player can move to a school and start his/her first game in a post season tournament without having played a certain amount of reg season games? The KHSAA allows this in Middle School and High School? A team could stack up right before a tournament.
Please let me know where to find this rule? Thanks

I don't think that a school is going to go out and have students move into their school just to play in a middle school conference tournament. Plus no one has mentioned of any player or team having a new player just for this week. As far as high school goes if a kid moves in to a school and establishes a residence if the team would allow them to come onto the team they would be allowed. Now if they have played for another school at the varsity level there is a little more scrutiny. To my knowledge the KHSAA has not addressed this at the middle school level.

You did not answer my question. Do you feel that a player is eligible to play in post season in February, if he/she came to the school in January? Based off your answers, you are from the school that is in question. This will be Round 2 for them.

No I am actually the person who runs the league and the rule that allows what I said was approved by every school in the league. So yes myself and our league do feel it is ok for that to happen. You must be a parent of a player whose team was defeated by this team.

Incorrect again. Was this approval documented on paper or was this handled via text message? Lol. Thanks for the information. Good luck Saturday.

It is handled and brought up the the fall meeting every year. It has been the rule for as long as the the league has been in existence and the KHSAA does not address it all as of yet if they do then the schools and the league would abide by what they say. Then what is your interest then if it has nothing to do with you. Not one team has ever brought this up this year or any other. This is the first time. Hope you enjoy the rest of the tournament and support the teams and players. there should be some really good games left in both tournaments.
