Boyle County is a top 5 public school system in KY and gives me the best of both worlds (school/sports), oh and it's FREE.

I wouldn't send my to LexCath if it was free.

Believe me if Fayette county parents lived at other county schools i.e.Scoot Co, Woodford Co, Jessamine Co, or other surrounding counties, they will send their kids there. Hard to justify good quality education when a class of 30-40 kids per teacher and kids are sitting on the floor or standing up. Yes even with the addition of FDHS. FCPS is over crowded.

2.The headaches, the mis-fits, the defiant, lack of consistency with regulating school policy by administrations.. parents would rather pay tuition.

3. They FCPS frowns upon any religious groups, activities, clubs, prayer groups etc etc.
So why not if you can afford it. And who's to say some LCA or Lex Cath families don't receive tuition assistance? Not all parents are politicians, doctors, lawyers, thoroughbreds farm owners.

I know several families that live in surrounding counties and send their kids into LCA/LC.

DUMB.

All things considered, my kids would be at FredDoug if I had to live Lexington.

But I don't. 🙏🏼

Again do you blame them with the example i just gave you? DUMD! They have the money, it's their choice and prerogative, you have yours. That's partly the problem, you don't pray LOL. Perhaps you should or start and maybe that dislike in your heart would go away.

Oh BTW Douglas has the HIGHEST call for service for SRO to respond to their school vs. the 5 other high schools in Fayette county. So just because it's in the Hamburg area, it's doesn't mean nice and cozy school. They took Clay's and Station's finest (sarcastic) and rolled them into one giant hot mess, thus call for service DAILY :thanks: for your time

So, no one has a connection at LexCath to provide a clue on who is in the running to be the next head football coach? :eyeroll:

Absolutely. Catholic's talent has been down for the past 3-4 years. Not sure what's behind the drop....but...in all fairness.....most programs go thru some peaks and valleys talent wise. Boyle's talent was down...now its back up. Even a program like Highlands can see massive talent drops. It comes with the territory. Biggest thing is this.....when your talent pool is up....take advantage of it.....and appreciate it.

LexCath talent started to drop off after their 2015 title run and let's be honest, the controversy a little bit ago hasn't helped. The program is trending down and I'm not sure it's as cyclical as a place like Boyle Co that is a public school. Private schools are more impacted by momentum of the program and excitement of the community. The more good vibes, the more people that want to be a part of it. If it's trending down with mediocre seasons and losing a coach, it can take a while to recover. LC needs a SPLASH hire and they need it quick or kids/parents may opt for the new kid on the block in FredDoug that is trending up AND is free to attend.

IMO LexCaths best days are behind it unless they get an exceptional coach and the move to 4A is beneficial.

Agreed on the recent controversy possibly being a reason LC is not getting the influx of talent. Not sure where all that stands but it sure did go quiet.
As for FD.....not everyone is as high on it as you seem to be. Sure, the kids like the shiny new stuff but most parents that are interested in more than football, nice weight rooms and jumbotrons can figure out it's not a great option.
#48
I think the racial issue a couple of years ago coming at the exact time when a new school was being built probably has a lot to do with it. I, however, think it will correct itself as the newness of the school and time between the controversy grows. They will be back in a couple years as long as they make a good hire.
#49
Have any of you all been to FD? Just wondering where this "jumbotron" is located. Unless they changed the football scoreboard as of last week, It's a plain o'le middle school looking scoreboard. And as far as the roster on FD, if someone can do their homework. You will see that the football team is 100% or 99.9% players from Lafayette, Henry Clay, B. Station and add 1 lineman from LCA and 1 QB from Dunbar that never saw that field but just happens to be back and enrolled AGAIN at PL Dunbar this 2nd semester.

I heard a rumor this week and it would be a nice fit for LexCath if true.

Who is it? Give us a hint.
#53
Bobcat
#54
Haddix??
#55
Dudley? He already has his retirement. He could probably make as much and only have to coach.
#56
Or could it be Mike Holcomb? He is in the same situation as Dudley. Plus his offense would suite Lex Cath better.
#57
No hints. But there was supposed to be an interview.

i haven't heard anything else about it yet.
#58
The person I mentioned did get an interview but was not chosen.

What do LexCath fans think about their new coach? I'm skeptical. Handing the keys to a Cadillac to an unproven HC is a HUGE risk.

I think I read that he has been their defensive coordinator, for Catholic’s sake let’s hope he’ a better head coach than defensive coordinator.

HC is a much different animal than just a DC.
