Yea right thatâs why Waggner hated Belfry because he was the Super and Haywood had more pull that he did lol

You must be oblivious to what things are like in PiCo. The Belfrys boy club has retired.

Well.....if you actually think that when Haywood does retire that his replacement will come from PCC.....then Iâve got a gold mine I would like to sell you up Brushy. 😂😂😂😂😂

Haywood will hand pick his replacement and Reed will happily go along with it and if you think any different then you donât know much about what your talking about

With all due respect.....it would be a terrible choice. Iâve been around this program all the way back to Coach Dick Roddy. Been there for the ups and the downs. If a current staff member wouldnât be selected.....then a search committee will/would be formed to find a suitable replacement.

I totally agree this is what happened when we hired Coach Haywood and you can bet Ol Phil would be heading the process

Oh I agree that a current staff member will be the next coach. However like all jobs in Pike County, they're political. Anything can happen.
My point was that Eric Ratliff wasn't a bad football coach.

I've read your post from time to time. You literally have no idea about anything. Read a book or something.

Your idiot Iâve been around the program for 35 years and the only way we will actually know is when he decides to hang it up then weâll see

So the Barker kid that left Belfry and transferred to Mingo decided to come back? That wouldn't sit right with me if I was a coach or player on the team

You mean like the powerhouse he built East Ridge into that just took a shellacking from the Phelps Hornets 32-8 in the Pike County Bowl. Or the PC Hawks and their annual beating's by the Pirates and 5-6 records?
Worry more about what happens on Lick Creek and less about what happens on Pond Creek!

Starting tomorrow, it's football time back on Pond Creek! Tomorrow starts the climb back up the ladder to the top. Really looking forward to the upcoming season and the 2018 Belfry Football Pirates.

I think 2018 is a bridge year. A lot of juniors and frankly, some seniors who havenât had as much playing time are gonna have to step up and play critical roles all over the field. Massive holes must be filled with the loss of Wellman, Hunter, Varney, Adkins, etc etc. We got our ears slapped back against Central....and honestly....it will be interesting to see how this group responds. That was the FIRST time these kids had not played in a state championship game, going all the way back to 7th grade. How they respond, lead, and adapt to the challenges theyâre gonna face will be interesting. The junior and senior class have been joined at the hip since middle school. Both groups leaning on each other at critical junctures throughout their time as Pirates. If egos are put aside....theyâve got a great opportunity to get to Kroger Field. It thatâs gonna take leadership. Interesting to see how it develops.

Completely agree with you. We lost some really good players. We'll just have to wait and see how these Pirates respond coming off a playoff loss for the first time in a very long time. But I like our chances.

Belfrys O-Line is starring to get alot of attention from colleges. Dagan Rash and Austin Lawson (Juniors) both have received offers from UVA-Wise to play football and Rash is set to visit the Army and Naval academies next month. Ethan Wolford (Sophomore) has had visits to Louisville and Marshall this Spring with upcoming workouts with UT-Martin and UT-Chattanooga next month. 3 of the 5 starting linemen for Belfry getting some great exposure. While the other two, Keaton Thacker and Logan Arbogast, could see some attention in the near future. This is why I say the Pirates have one of the best Offensive Lines in the state. Rash won the Regional championship in the shot put event in track and field while Wolford looks to break the all time record at Belfry in wrestling wins in the heavyweight division next year as a Junior, only a few wins away from that mark right now. Can't wait until the season starts to see these young men, and the rest of the Pirates, suit up for another run at a state championship.

Great attention for these Pirates. 👍🏼 That being said, I would be mildly surprised if thatâs actually the starting O-Line. Not saying it shouldnât be, or couldnât be....
Just not convinced at this point it will be....

Not sure why it wouldn't be. They all started last year with the exception of Arbogast who played more once the game started. I would be shocked if this wasn't our starting line. While in the world would coach change it? Now if your referring to some play on the D-Line then I would agree. I could see a couple playing both ways. But to say that Heywood would spit up one of his strongest position groups I don't agree at all with you. But you may know alot more than I do about Heywoods plans but I just can't hardly see him doing so.
