#1

This could be an interesting hire. They definitely have the program level someone would want to be a part of.
#3
Given the returning talent to LC it could be very interesting. I could see some surprising applicants pop up.
#4
I want this job....who do I have to see to get it?
#5
Looks like a job for Bert Browne.
#6
Things aren't as great at LexCath as one might think. Great move for Coach Perry!
#7
Look for Justin Haddix. He doesn’t have to worry about teacher retirement. He can coach at LC and not teach with his wife being a Dr. His kids can attend LC which is one of the best academic schools in the state. Justin Haddix next coach at Lex Cath

Wow. I agree it'd be a good move on his part.
I can only imagine the uproar from Corbin fans.
#9
Nope. Haddix won’t get the job

Don’t know if Lexington Catholic is trying to call :phone::phone::phone: me or if it is a telemarketing wanting me

Haddix isn't leaving Corbin for LexCath although it would be a significant increase in pay I would think?!?!

Doubtful; probably a wash at best & lost years in KTRS. Both are premier jobs.

I heard Mark Dixon was in the running.

Mark or Mo? I'm not sure Mo would leave his new gig in Camden County with Sphire with all that they are getting paid.

Jeff Carlberg is another that I thought about, but he was just part of a 6 or 7A State Title team in North Gwinnett (GA) as their DC (Sphire's former school).

Those guys make some jack and little to zero teaching responsibilities.

Yep.

I can see a lot of coaches applying for this job.

I would like to know as well unless there are internal issues none of us are aware of. They certainly have talent returning...if it doesn't find a new home now with a coaching change.

Some players may go to their “home” district school? I was thinking this when I saw the coach left. I have no idea what the rosters look like for LCA or Lex Cath but would imagine some of them would be kids who could go to any number of schools around Lexington area.

The talent is down from years past. One look at a game from last year and it's easy to see that outside a few kids they are not as talented. Things are just different there now.

I have no specific info myself other than a couple of parents that told me as much.

LCA is down too. They lose a lot of talent and will be rebuilding for a year or two.

I'll beg to differ on that statement for 2 reason...
1. Freshman class/ team won the city Lexington, beating other city teams (for whatever that is worth).
2. It was just 3 season ago that they went on to the championship game. Though they lost to power Belry, but they made it.
3. I lied lol, 2 season ago, they played for the regional crown. Yes they lost to Lou Central.
4. I lied again, this past season they played for the regional again. Yes lost to Boyle Co.
So to say talent is down, I disagree. and if I may add, prior to those season I mentioned... hey went on to the state- semi's 5 straight years, only to loose to Highlands when they were winning "The Drive for Five" in a row.

We can agree to disagree. Personally I don't care I just repeated what I've been told and what I witnessed twice last year.

How large is the Lexington diocese? Doesn’t it expand all the way to Pikeville?
#28
Paul Rains would be a good hire

May be a silly question but I'm not shy. Do you have to be catholic to work/teach/coach for Lex Cath? LCA has a waiver teachers/coaches sign with what amounts to rules like no drinking in public, etc.

E's Army Wrote:Paul Rains would be a good hire

He has I think 2 more years to reach his retirement. Only way he could/would do it is if he could keep his teaching job in state retirement system.
I have no idea where Mike Holcomb is but that may be a good fit.
