UCONN 87 Kentucky 83 FINAL
#1
Kept fighting had plenty of chances just couldn't get the rebounds they needed after missed free throws.

Some terrible terrible calls but they had they're chance.

Still finished as one of the top 32 teams in the nation and will end up between 17 and 32 I would say around 23.

UK played as well as could be expected just could not get some key shots to fall!!! They did great considering all the people that picked them to get blowed out!!! HATS OFF TO THE WILDCATS

What a great performance by Patrick Sparks today. IMO we couldnt go out to a classier coach and team then UCONN. for all the trouble this team has gone through, this performance was unbeleivable. Had we learned how to play like this earlier in the year, we would be looking at a 2 or 3 seed and would have a legit shot at a final four. It sucks we had to play UCONN in the 2nd round, but IMO this will be UCONN's closest game of the tourny.

Patrick Sparks will ALWAYS hold a special place in my hear for what he did here. the unathletic, slow, cant play defense kentucky boy was a man tonight. Yes, i will say he was the BEST player on the floor today. Ill miss you patrick....

Go win that title HUSKIES!

Great game by Sparks he showed a lot of heart in his last game. Couple of rebounds off some missed freethrows and the outcome of this game could have been different.
#5
Congrats to Uconn. The cats played well in the 2nd half but didnt get the rebounds they needed off of missed free throws.

The call against Morris that fouled him out was a joke it was late even if it was a foul and we had the ball when they called it. Then the call against Rondo on Williams was a joke and the fouls shots put Uconn up four. We had our our chances to win and couldn't capitilize but the calls at the end hurt us. Great Game by Sparks he did everything he could. I'm still proud of my team they played their hearts out.

Don't forget about the "goal tend", or the ball that was GIVEN to UConn when it clearly went out on them.

However, I'm still proud of the effort.  The only thing I fault them for is not grabbing a rebound on those freethrow attempts.  Reminds me too much of the game last year.

Hardest they've played all year but just blew it at times and din't do exactly what we needed.  But Mr. Perry has showed he's gotten alot better in these two games.
#9
I hope Mr. Perry's play carries over into next year. We could be REALLY good next year.

So funny how everyone says UK fans hate DUKE just because they beat UK and all that crap.  This just shows the difference UCONN handled it well during and after the game.  CLASS ACT players and coaches and I'll be hoping they win there THIRD title.  Great team great coach.  Just proves if you play with respect you'll get it.  Duke never did and they'll never have mine.  Good Luck to UK next year and to UCONN to take the title.

They played good im proud of them

Hats off to the boys...correction: MEN IN KENTUCKY BLUE today. Patrick Sparks took this team on his back and for the first time this year, I truly saw how special He really was. I as a die-hard UK fan hate to see us lose, but this one don't feel too bad because we left it all on the court. We played with so much heart and intensity, we could have easily layed down in the first half and let them run over us, but these guys from UK showed what it means to wear the Blue & White of Kentucky. I am so proud of them and ever so grateful to them for their performance today. It is just a shame that there was some really questionable calls that went the wrong way that ended the momentum at such a critcal stage of the game.

This game really gave me some hope for next year....Tubby was a great coach today and it showed. I feel like an ass for being so hard on him during the season. We may never know if there was some issues with the team behind the scenes, but those guys played like men todfay and for that I am truly proud to say that I am a UK fan.

My eternal thanks to the 4 UK Seniors our native sons...... You made your state proud of you today. Hold your head high and may you be forever proud that you were and always will be a Wildcat.

Go Big Blue

Best post in months by you BP.  I was almost ready to jump ship with you.  Great POST.

That was a real good job UK. i was presently surprised and scared to death. U guys sure gave a great team a run for their money.
#15
The wildcats played 1 heck of a game im so proud of them but you have to rebound to win ball games and thats somethan that the should have done better at times but they played anawsome game and i wish they would have played like that all year.
#16
Kentucky played a great game today and so did UCONN ! UK did a real good job on Gay, Boone ! We just didnt have enough talent to pull it off there in the end ! Hats off to Patrick Sparks ! The refs really wanted UCONN to win this one today, But if you want to blame this loss on anyone I would blame it on Kelenna Azubukie ! Congrats UK on a great run ! C'MON huskie's win the National Championship !
#17
I thought UK was going to get smashed, but they kept it close, and if they rebound better, especially on that free-throw late in the game, I think they win.  Maybe I was wrong and UK basketball isn't dead.

Does nobody want the player of the year award?  First, Redick chokes tries to give it to Morrison, then Morrison chokes and tries to give it to Rudy Gay, then he plays like poop.

Bfritz.....i have two word for you for player of the year..

PATRICK SPARKS!!!

Great Job today UK, wish it could have been on to the sweet 16 but oh well crap happens. Next year i will be in the student section cheering you on all the way. GO UK !

Great posts by everyone finally a thread about UK I like reading. I have been behind them all year and they made me proud today even with the loss. I agree with you blackcat_student if we had Kelenna this season could of been completly different.
#24
I was very proud to be a wildcat fan today...my hats go off to everyone on the team and all the coaches...i finally think all the players bought into tubby's game plan....congrats uk on a great season but you have to fell sorry for sparks...he played his ass off on his last game...good luck in life sparks..

UK played well today.  UConn was just to big.  Losing Morris at the end killed us plus the offensive rebounds they got on the free throws.  but UK was in there all the way to the end.
hope for a better season next year
#26
I think kentucky played the Best ball that they have played all year...they could not have played any better than what they did and im proud of all the boys...Sparks with 28??????????who can ask for any better than that...I thought there was some questionable calls at the end but thats the way the ball bounces.....
#27
I am proud of the Cats becasue they seemed to fight until the end, but that leads to the question, ...."Why now and not the whole season......?"

If Kalenna had stayed, just think how special this year would have been. I really think if he had stayed we would be hanging  banner #8 in Rupp. But he is a kid and made a stupid decision to go pro, and now has nothing to show for it.

Good luck next year UK
