Jackson County 65 Whitley County 59 (OT)
#1
Final

I reckon this one was a crazy ending in regulation with Jackson County behind 4pts with 0.01 second remaining in game..Jackson County shooting 2ft makes the first one, intensely missed the second one and tip the ball to a Jackson County player behind the three point line to tie the game up forcing the game into overtime which Jackson won..........Remember I said 0.01 second :pondering: Go Jackson County :Cheerlead

I thought by rule there had to be 0.3 (three-tenths) left on the clock to even get a shot off that could count, much less tip it out to the three point line AND get a shot off. If I had been Overbey, well, I might still be in Jackson Co. this morning if you know what I mean.

There was one second on clock when he shot the free throw according to several facebook post. .1 left when it left his hands. there are several videos on facebook of the ending
#9
I dont know if it should have counted or not hard to tell in video but the tip and shot was very quick but to tip a ball to a kid at three point line and get shot off is hard to imagine in 1 second.
#10
I’ve watched the video several times on boys 13th region site on FB and it happened.

It's actually impossible, that is unless you are playing at home and have a time clock operator with a very slow trigger finger.

I can assure you 1 thing. It’s not impossible. I’ve watched it several times and timed it. Have you seen it?
#14
I tried post it but can’t. If you join boys 13th region group on FB you can see it.

So the clock started when the ball hit the rim, it then bounced out to the 3 point line, was caught, then shot in less than 1 second?

Clock starts when touched by player. I’m not going to keep discussing something with you I’ve seen and you are speculating on. Was it close? Yes. Was it bang bang play? Yea. Could the officials have said no goal? Yes. But it was a heck of a play and the kids, coach deserve credit.

If it was started when the kid slaps it out, there's no way it counts with 1 second on the clock. But it appears he did get it out of his hands before the horn, so that's all that matters. May not be right, but you should expect a slow clock keeper finger on the road.

Sounds like a wild one.

Did the clock have tenths of a second such as 1.0? Or was it an older clock with just 1?
If it is an older clock, 1 second could really be 1.9. Which is close to 2 seconds.
Just a thought.

its a new clock. I seen the video. It shows the clock at 1.0

Did it take the clock operator one second to start the clock ?

I was really skeptical of this when just hearing of it, but I watched the video last night, and son of a gun, I think they actually pulled it off legitimately. It was really amazing.

I watched it, but I think it would take more than a second for it to be tipped to the shooter and for him to release it.

it's funny to hear people complain about 1/2 a second. human error, slow fingers, whatever - doesn't mean they cheated you. I think 1/2 second reaction time is pretty good. Doesn't seem like homecourt advantage - just normal stuff.

Whitley fans need to quit griping and worry about those things (i'm sure there were some) that they could have done to prevent the play... block out for one, guard the shooter for 2 - probably other thing in the 30 second before they shot as well.

It's always easier to say it was someone elses fault rather than just admit you could have done better....

I didn't see any Whitley fans griping. They could have done better is obvious to all, And you need to spend more time worrying about your team and less time whining about Corbin Confusednicker: . Do you need to be told other things?
