I predicted 2 years ago that Knox would end up winning this region and several of my friends laughed and said no way, well who is laughing now. Great game KNOX

After seeing KC play in the WYMT Classic, I am not surprised at all!

Like the Pigskin....Corbin does not lose in the Cumberland Falls.....this is a shocking score.

Panthers are the better team and it showed tonight.

I think it has been 48 years since Knox Central won the 13th Region. They beat my Evarts Wildcats in the semi-finals in 1970. Don Bingham was the head coach. However, there is a lot of basketball to play between now and March. When I watched Corbin clobber Harlan County last year I thought there was no way that Harlan County could win the 13th Region. You never know.

Still way too early to be beating chest right now, but they seem to be the favorite right now. But there are definitely 5 teams that could either win the region or ruin it for a favorite even if they don't win the region. Three things I noticed from this game.
1. Knox is just the better team. It's extremely difficult to rely on 1 player as much as Corbin does and win a region. 5 beats 1 99% of the time. But Knox might want to clean it up before the next match up, because in the 13th the officiating changes with the wind. There could've been about 10 technicals handed out tonight if certain officials are doing the game.
2. With #21 for Corbin off the floor Corbin drops to about 8-10 in the region. He's obviously what will make or break them but I don't know if anyone realized it was that bad.
3. How can you have 3 officials on the floor and them miss so much obvious stuff? #12 for Knox pulls #21 down by the collar of his jersey and #21 gets the technical? I understand he said something he shouldn't have, but my goodness how do you miss something so blatant?
On a side note. They may want to get a couple of those Knox assistants in the student section. Lol.

This game wasn't for region. Corbin played without their best two players for almost the entire second quarter, and Taylor had four fouls for the whole fourth. It took him out of his game down the stretch. I think Knox central is a really talented basketball team, but they're still Knox central. They'll choke when they're playing for their season.

Talking about calling getting missed....what about the Corbin #32 that actually threw a fist punch right in front of two officials n wasn't ejected out of the game.. Yes I seen some trying to be some home cooking but it was just not a nuff for a solid 8 players deep Knox Central...And no the chest pounding is not getting started to early but it's official that it's Knox Centrals to Lose...
12-31-2017, 06:01 AM
Congrats to Panthers
12-31-2017, 06:26 AM
Which part did you think was home cooking? Was it when 21 was called for a technical for getting thrown to the floor? Or when 12 from central was holding 32 down on the ground and he had to fight loose
Iâm willing to give credit where it is due, I think KC has a great team, and I donât think the officiating changed the outcome of the game, however I donât know how one could get home cooking from that, that was one of the worst called games Iâve seen in years.

I spent gas money again to watch an electric performance by Knox. They are getting better a little at a time. Knox Central is well coached, very athletic and DEEP. What an atmosphere tonight.

As far as playing without their best two , that happens when you are playing against better athletes. If 4 fouls held Taylor back in the forth, then he doesn't understand the game. Not buying your excuses, Corbin fans always have them.
Don't try to label the Panthers like a last year Corbin team.
Refs caused it because of the fouls. Maybe the first time Corbin has played a game at home and not gotten all the calls and it took them out of their game?

This Corbin team has done plenty of choking..lol. One and done in 2 of the last 3 regional tournaments, ZERO regional championships for this group. Overrated last season and appears to be overrated this season.

I'd love a explanation of the technical on Andrew Taylor. He got thrown to the ground and That was it...?
12-31-2017, 04:05 PM
All you have to do is ask him what he said.

#32 was ejected. You don't have to leave the bench for some reason in high school. He will have to miss the next 2 games.

Nice win for the Panthers but we have seen this before from KC, let’s see what happens when it counts...

Again, how you can portray KC as choke artists, but give Corbin a pass is beyond me. Corbin has been hyped for for past four years and have nothing to show for it.

Even Corbin announcers said Matthew Taylor would be tossed for throwing a punch. They was even shocked when it was just a T

As I say that. I have watched Matthew for years and never seen nothing like that from him. Idk what happened

Last year Corbin was hyped pretty good and lost in a game where your black bears couldnât miss it if they tried. A game where they were just simply out played. Wouldnât call that choking. The two years before that, did anyone have Corbin winning it all? 2014-2015 was Williamsburgâs class that had a fantastic team and went to state. 2015-2016 was South Laurelâs year where we finally had a 13th region team go to state and have real success. Which of those years, besides last year, did Corbin have a shot to win it all? You may have personally hyped us, but both of those years Corbin entered the tournament as district losers and were clearly not the favorite.

I think I remember you saying that Harlan County would have to have someone beat Corbin for them...lol. Harlan County was better than Corbin period!! You got caught up in two regular season games where HC showed Corbin absolutely nothing (credit Jones for out coaching and out smarting Pietrowski). Corbin lacks athleticism at all positions. They couldn't guard HC last year and they can't guard KC this year. Both of those teams had and have very quick guards that Corbin struggles to stay in front of, which would also explain Corbin foul problems. Players that get in to foul trouble, many times have a hard time containing.

I for sure ate my crow from last year. But if I recall people made the same statements about Corbin not being able to contain Knoxâs athleticism last year and Corbin sent Knox packing last year. I responded directly to your statement about how you claim âCorbin has choked the last 3 yearsâ and it makes sense you would avoid most of that. Besides last year, Corbin was never in the talk to win region âthe last 3 yearsâ. Last year before region Knox and Corbin was the talk, even though HC shouldnât have been shadowed, and HC played a perfect game to win region. Your other talk is nonsense.
12-31-2017, 06:42 PM
Come on Corbin posters what other excuse can you come up with? Not once has a Corbin fans said ,âgreat game ,you guys beat us fair and square. â Always someone elseâs fault or got cheated . I will say this 64sur when they play again in Corbin , Corbin will make sure the referees are on the same page and know where they are. CORBIN!

There you go..taking credit away from KC and HC. Corbin did beat KC in the tournament last season, but most people agreed that there was some questionable officiating down the stretch. As for HC, they eliminated your redhounds in each of the last two seasons. Two years ago at the arena, they beat them by 14 and missed 17 free throws, which is far from a perfect game. Can't you just admit that they've not been nearly as good as you thought they were? The only people that didn't talk about HC last year were you South Laurel and Corbin fans. HC was 32-3 and had two all state players caliber players.
