Not bad, but I'd definitely have Clay County 7th ahead of the rest of those. If anyone thinks there's a overwhelming favorite this year, they are in for a surprise. Any of the top 7 could beat one another on any given night. Guarantee it.

If Corbin doesn’t win the region with Taylor and Stewart then Coach P will quit and coach volleyball.
#5
Clay may be the surprise team of the year. They’ve got a lot of young talent that could be tough come tourney time

Stewart will make little difference on this Corbin team. 5'10" shooter will not get as many shots as he likes on this team.
#7
Stewart way better than Saunders. Wow

updated to reflect recent games

1. Knox Central - really like where they are at right now
2. Corbin - loss to Catholic dims them a bit
3. North Laurel - better then expected
4. South Laurel - another good cardinal team
5. Lynn Camp - Dinky's gonna make a run
6. Harlan County - They'll rise before it's done
7. Clay county - the Tigers are competitive.. that's all
8. Wililamsburg - didn't see that coming
9. Jackson County - great coach
10. Whitley County - tough end of a tough district

After tonight, this is far from a two team race. North is right there with South as well. Corbin is now what they're going to be at the end of the season. North and South both will look like completely different teams at the end of the season. Should be a really fun season. I also wouldn't want no part of Lynn Camp in a win or go home game.

What does north look like this year? Haven’t gotten to see every team this year just yet.
#13
1: Corbin - best player and best coach in the region
2: Knox Central - really good talent, but the questions remain...can they get over the hump?
3: South Laurel - Could beat either of the top 2 on a given night
4: Harlan County - Lost 2 good players but still are very talented and fast
5: Clay - Young and talented but play no defense whatsoever
6: North - North could win 25 games in the regular season but lose in the district and region.
7: Jackson County - Could make some noise in the 49th
8: Lynn Camp: Good coach
9: Whitley County: Won't even make it to region because of their tough district
10: Williamsburg: No chance

Knox will never get over the hump. The WYMT was a fluke.

We could say the same for Corbin, after last year.
#16
Taylor, Sanders and Stewart could be to much for teams to over come. Heard last night it was Sanders first game back form a surgery. He looked a little rusty on offense, but his energy and defense wasn't lacking. Heard Stewart was suffering from the flue ?

Corbin's lack of rebounding is what let South hang around. When Stewart gets healthy and Sanders gets the rust off his offense.
Wow!!

Silly comment. Corbin is the hump. They've won regions under their current coach. But Knox will get over that hump this year.

I have to disagree, there is a hump to cross each year.

Pretty sure that every team in the region is sick right now. Good luck on anyone getting rust off their offense on that team that isn't named Andrew. Knox will beat Corbin easily when they meet unless they get the hometown treatment. I don't see this team being as good as last years and would be extremely surprised to see them win region.
#20
Knox was better last year to. They lost 5 seniors and a lot of scoring and rebounding.

It's all opinions, but it don't think Knox was better last year at all. They had 2 seniors that made a impact and is definitely missed but they was replaced by Martin and Adams that is a lot better players. I think it hurt their depth more than anything, but I don't see any 13th region teams with a deep bench. We'll see though. That's what makes this region and this time of year so much fun.

I would go.

1. Knox
2. Corbin
2. South
2. North
3. Lynn Camp
4. Harlan County
5. (Healthy) Whitley County
6. Clay County

Definitely wouldn't sleep on Lynn Camp. I would put my money on them against any other than those top 4.

How would you rank Corbin and south tied after Corbin beat them?

Where did they play? If at South then Corbin #2, if at Corbin Then that is another animal all together.
#26
the Sanders kids been hurt, he'll get better. Stewart still hasn't totally meshed yet with Corbin. When all of it comes together, the Hounds will be tough.

But I'm still putting Knox Central #1

1. Knox Central
2. Corbin
3. South
4. North
5. Harlan Co
6. Lynn Camp
7. Jackson County
8. Clay County
9. Williamsburg
10. Bell County

CoachNM0523 Wrote:How would you rank Corbin and south tied after Corbin beat them?

I'm not ranking them based on their wins or losses right now, just who I think is the better teams. If I ranked them on losses it would be hard to argue either way. Lexington Catholic and Corbin are supposed to be top 20 teams, but Corbin was beat by 30 on the road against the ranked team they played and South was beat by 6 on the road against the top 20 team they played. That's why I didn't rank them on their wins or losses yet. I hate to do that much thinking. Lol.

What about the big kid for Corbin that has about 3 different lettermans Confusednicker:
Will he play? If say not if they start losing

Looks like they let Jackson County "hang around" tonight as well.
