Clay County 75 Perry County Central 73

Final from the WYMT Classic.

Sounds like it was a good one, congrats to the Tigers. Keep ya heads up Commodores.

This was a nice matchup. The post player from Clay did some good things. Needs to work on his free throws. Perry played hard but had too many unforced turnovers. Also, Clay took Perry out of the game with a chaser on Back. Perry has to be able to run an offense with Back not involved and consistently be able to score. I think Perry will see this most of the season, especially in the regional games.

I agree Da Truth. I thought Clay putting the chaser on Back was a game changer and a great decision by the coaches. The two freshman for Clay stepped up, Curry hit some big shots, and Rodgers played well. Clay almost lost it by missing free throws, but it was a great win nonetheless.

I have seen unmade free throws make a difference in a basketball game time and time again!!

Waiting for hitter to tell us how bad pcc got cheated!!!

Perry just got out played last night showed good heart by not giving up with 47 seconds left. It's early this teams schedule will have them ready just give it time.

Perry got outplay and putting a chaser on back hurt Perry because I think hes the only consistant scorer they have. After watching them last night it could be a long year for the Commadores because most teams in the Region will chase the back kid all year. 54th District is up for grabs.

Tough start for perry

Congrats to Tiggers.

They didn't get cheated but they did get out coached. I didn't think perry coach should have left his subs in most of the second quarter when they were up 12 points and they end up going into halftime down 1 point. And back is going to have to learn how to use a screen and keep moving on offense.

Weakest PCC team I’ve seen in a while.

all these people on here that were tired of all these players coming in got what they asked for, all home grown players so its going to be a hard season but that's what they wanted

They have not been this weak in about 10 years. They will be competitive in the 14th region but the region is down this year. They have had some talented teams in the past few years and the region has been up. Perry Central staff needs to work on their feeder program or they will slide further. the feeder program has been neglected for a while.
