The Tennessee coaching search has reached embarrassing levels, and AD John Currie has come under fire for the failure to land Butch Jonesâs replacement.
On Friday morning, Currie met with Tennessee chancellor Beverly Davenport, and the results of the meeting werenât good for the embattled athletic director.
According to WVLT reporter Chynna Greene, Currie was fired by the school, marking an end to his brief eight-month tenure in Knoxville:
#BREAKING: According to sources, UTAD John Currie has been fired after only 8 months on the job 8 months.
What this means for the Volsâ coaching search is unclear, but the school now has no football coach and no athletic director.

They'll still find a way to compete with Kentucky and beat them next year in Knoxville, even if they hire the waterboy

Sources tell @NBCDFWSports that former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach is working on a deal to become the next coach at Tennessee. A deal could be announced Friday. I’m working on more details.

I’m hearing Dudley has been looking at houses in Knoxville.

I’ve been reading a lot of Tennessee blogs about how former coach Fulmer has been placing the pieces together to get the AD job. How sad is that? I don’t know the current AD and he may be a terrible person but if he’s not, how could Tennessee do him this way?
If you need any assistance or want to report a problem feel free to PM me and we will get it taken care of! Thank you for choosing to be apart of the BGR community!
