Just because someone votes against your team or doesn't think your team is going to win isn't necessarily a sign of disrespect.
I for one am way too excited for this game. I can't say it enough. Two of the more premier programs in the state! What else can you ask for? (No one answer that question).
When Corbin is involved there are some posters that take offense to ANY other team coming here and tooting their own horn. I've read this forum for months and it is undeniable that they feel disrespected at times. It's a freaking message board, it's where fans come and banter about their team and the game. Not sure I take anything personal but I also like to chat some from a fan perspective. Some people don't want to hear that the best player on the field isn't their favorite player or the team facing theirs has 5 titles and is a HOF coach.

Not saying the Smith kid don't, but I don't want to get into this, our guy is better cause that's all we do stuff. We have PReston Tucker, a kid who ran for around 1500 yards, a 235 pound bruiser who was rated in the top 100 of Kentucky at the first of the year. Kid probably averages 20+ carries a game. Also we use our senior running back Dalton Summers who was our leading rusher last year. He probably had 500+ as well. So we were balanced. The thing you guys have over us is better competition. So I'll give you that. But our WR is very good. My point wasn't that the Smith kid isn't good, or your entire receiving core, but the point of, Corbin's secondary is very very good. But if your guys do blow by them, or are so quick in their routes they just blow Corbin out of the water, I'll be there to see it and give you credit as soon as I get home to hit this board.
Oh I wasn't bashing your receiver he is a very good WR that like you said is very talented. I was just making a point that he had 20 more receptions than the Boyle kid. As far as our WR's blowing by Corbin I don't think that happens Boyle has some quick kids but to me not overly fast. What I think Boyle receivers do to get open is run great routes and 70% of the time the QB throws it on the money. To me the Smith kid is just a winner at most everything he does isn't going to make many mistakes and he just kind of lulls the DB's to sleep not getting targeted much and then makes a big play out of no where but I stick to thinking he is much more valuable on defense. What most people are not clearly thinking here is these teams are much more alike than they are different I think this game will be a dandy and hope there are no turnovers and two teams just battle.

The most important part of most games, including this one (a Corbin fan mentioned this earlier I believe) is the line of scrimmage. Who can control it?!?! Both teams have had great line play to this point.
Boyle has faced some of the best talent in the state at RB all season, most with average at best Olines. These players were fast and averaging ridiculous rushing averages and were completely SHUT DOWN by our D. Wandale Robinson (best playmaker in the state) was a non-factor twice. Jones from LexCath shut down twice. Bercherer from Etown non-factor running the ball. Jairus Brents from Waggenor did very little.
On offense we have had our way with everyone all year long running the ball except for Etown and Danville. They had the speed and quickness to make plays against our backs in the gaps. If Corbin can do the same then they have a chance to stop us, if not, I really like our chances.
I think it'll be a great game and along w/Mayfield vs Danville the best atmosphere on the weekend.

I guess that's the point I was trying to make. Everyone takes it personal when someone doesn't think THEIR team is going to win and results to insulting the other. Pathetic really.

7 Titles- 5 with the current coach who went to six straight.
Chuck is the legend of KY HS football. No telling what he could have done if he'd stayed at Boyle and not gone to UK for a couple of years. Impressive either way. I'd say Corbin will have their hands full come Friday at 7. Corbin has as good of staff as anyone in the state thought coaching wise, so no doubt they will be prepared. Gonna be a fun one to watch.

Donât see how Mayfield vs Danville has any bearing on this game at all.

Haddix has a tough time in second half of playoff games. Last 3 loses been out scored 83-14 and given up leads of 26-0 and 17-0. Came very close to giving up 21-0 lead against Central. If corbin can put together 4 good quarters they should win.

Thank you for the honest and anti-smack laced post.
Corbin would have to have an edge on a close game because of the nature of having played in more. However the game vs Etown was nerve racking and our team never wavered and in fact took control of the game in the second half. Our sophomore class responded. The four biggest offensive playmakers in the second half vs Etown was the sophomore class. Scored both TDs, threw one TD pass and made several keys catches and a huge punt return. But to be fair, Corbin should have the advantage in a close game but it's also on a very big stage so who knows what will happen with that?!?!
Danville vs Mayfield is Saturday so it won't effect us at all. However, I look for Danville to win going way. Maybe by 21ish points. I know both teams well and I just don't think Mayfield has the horses this year to contain the Ads. Plus Danvilles D is very good.
To put things in perspective for those that understand the whole HS Army All-American Combine stuff. Boyle has THREE sophomores that were invited to that combine: Smith (WR/S), Bartleson (RB) and Kelly (DT) so we know what we have on our side and which is why we are confident. The sophomore class has several college bound football players and they have been expected to bring multiple titles to Boyle from a very young age. We have a great senior class with one senior signed with Purdue (Bramel OL) and a couple of juniors that are tough. This year will be tough against a well-coached, disciplined, skilled opponent. I personally think we'll win but I'm not dumb enough to think we can't lose. It's football, on a HUGE stage, against a worthy opponent, anything can happen.

Every team could claim a mythical title if they wanted, since there is no such standard to go by. I don't blame a school for claiming the titles that the courier journal named champions, cause yes its kinda like the old college champions, but with Corbin the problem is that yall want to claim 1955, since the courier journal named y'all champs which is reasonable, but then the same people want to claim 1939 when the courier journal named Paducah champs that year. You can't have it both ways and say that we are champs in 55 cause the CJ said so, but we are the champs in 39 even though the same source says you wasn't. I know Caldwell, and Mayfield both had unbeaten teams prior to 36 when CJ started naming champs. So there is no source to dispute either school if they wanted to choose to claim a mythical title, but neither school claims a mythical title, also Paducah does not even claim 39 as a title even though the CJ says they was, so the whole argument that only fans of teams without a CJ title are the ones that says they don't count goes out the window. Like I said Paducah don't claim the one CJ says they have. Ashland had a lot of great teams prior to 36, but many schools could claim mythical titles if they wanted to crown themselves, but most don't. The team that I said that was unscored on was Mayfield in 1920. They finished 8-0-1 with the tie being a College from TN. They outscored opponents 461-7 on the season. The 7 They gave up was in that tie game. So they went 8-0 against high school opponents scoring 454-0, and no-one considers them a champion, so enough of the every one claims one that can. Another piece of history to that year is its the last year, they didn't play Paducah. Paducah refused to play since they where beaten 85-6 the previous year, and Mayfield returned the whole team. 7 from the 20 team went, and played college ball the next year.
Did Corbin ever beat any college teams?

We did not play well vs Danville and truth be told we had a little deer in the headlights that game, especially some of our younger players. Blocking was not good. Penalties killed us. Turnovers were costly.
We outgained Danville by nearly 100 yards and had about 70 more penalty yards. All of these factors lead to a last second (improbable) 45-yard FG attempt that was made with :33 left. Props to the kid.
If we played now, the game would most-likely be a far different outcome.

I can see the correlation, but they are right that it really has no bearing, because it comes down to execution, and past games won't matter. I'm sure Mayfield fans will follow this game though. 3a will be played a day before 2a, so no reason to worry about how that game goes for Corbin fans, but if I had a Crystal ball, and could see the future, and knew the results of the 2a game before 3a was played, I would not feel good about Corbins chances if Danville blew Mayfield out like some say. If Danville can blow Mayfield out with Guthrie back in the mix at qb then i don't think Corbin would beat Boyle. I have seen enough state games to know that the teams are all very good, and even 2 pretty even teams on paper can turn into a blowout, if one team turns it over. I've seen Mayfield turn it over to much, and get beat badly by a team that shouldn't have blew them out, and I've seen Mayfield win handily when they shouldn't have won that easily for the same reasons. Got to play your A game to win these games.

It really has no bearing. Danville vs Boyle was the 3rd Game of the Season. 3rd game for a team relying heavily on Sophomores. This is no the same Boyle team. Danville is not the same Admiral team.
Just like Corbin losing to Beechwood has no bearing on this game. That was along time ago and I pretty much can see that Corbin is a much better team now than then.
There are no common opponents between Corbin and Boyle. So straining for 3rd generation one is a stretch. And like I knew when you posted (but you must not have), The Danville game vs Mayfield is on Saturday, hence it has no bearing.

Unlike at the UK games, we will not have access to the buffets, bar, etc. However, you will be able to purchase concessions inside of the Woodford Reserve Mezzanine level and the Field Club in addition to padded seats and access to the inside areas. That alone is worth the extra 20.00 seeing as it looks pretty cold on Friday night.
I know that is the Corbin side of the field but is the club level split between Corbin and Boyle?
