Tiger77 Wrote:What Ashland station will carry the broadcast?

iheart raido, b97.1 Dicky will be in rare form, I believe. Love him or hate him, he's the best broadcaster in the state. IMHO.

Good info to know. If you get tired of hearing Dicky, you can change the station...

How do you figure? I do not have any kinfolk on either team. Confusednicker:

Good Luck to both teams ,it should be a dandy.

Just saying... you did lose to Boyle County badly and struggled with a Madison Southern team that really isn't that good, and I should know considering I live in Berea and that is where my son will be going to high school. Yes, Wayne will have home field advantage but if turn overs do not become an issue, I think the winner of JC/Ashland wins state. Collins out west is NOTHING impressive.

Ashland already selling region champ shirts....

Don't count the Kittens yet, especially at home inside the friendly confines of Putnam Stadium. Ashland never sells themselves short when they have home field advantage. Putnam Stadium is hard to place to beat the Tomcats. Ashland has to make the GOLDEN EXPRESS earn every inch, just as they did in the first game. If GOLDEN EXPRESS plays well and doesn't help Ashland then it will be a massive struggle for the Tomcats, but then again there is something about Putnam Stadium whether it be the atmosphere, level of officiating, or some other uncontrollable mystifying effect that makes Ashland tough at home!
I really think this is going to be a dandy of a ball game! The money is on the GOLDEN EXPRESS, but something tells MAROON MADNESS is the only thing that is going to matter Friday Night!

Tomcats: 21

Golden Express: 20

I think it's important for Central to come out early and get the lead and the momentum. If Central can put a couple of touchdowns on the board early, I like their chances. If it's a close game going into the fourth quarter, I like Ashland's chances at home. With that being said, I think Central holds on to the ball and leaves Ashland with another regional championship. It's hard to beat a good team two times in the same year. Johnson Central wins 34-27.

Tough to beat a Paintsville based football team!! Going with the Eagles!!

Central 40
Ashland 21

Go EAGLES! You guys owe the TOMCATS one get this win. Hope for an injury free game for both teams and Johnson Central to get the win.

The Eagles travel to Putnam one more time this season to face the Tom Cats of Ashland.

Good luck to both teams for an injury free contest, and to the Seniors on both sides of the ball. I hope they have the best games of their lives.

Looking for Johnson Central to exact a little revenge tonight!

Johnson Central by 2 scores!!

JC can’t be overconfident going into this one. I think they are refocused and get the job done 36-28. My big concern is the secondary though. Despite playing solid the last two weeks they still look timid playing the ball in the air and give up too many big plays. I think that’s an area Ashland will have to exploit.

Tomcats roll!

NOTsoBADCAT back in the doghouse, or will Tony let him get a little PT this time around again?....You saw what a difference maker the boy can be.

lol, DO WHAT???

They rolled at will for over 500 yards of offense....Sheesh!! :eyeroll:

However they had butterfingers and dropped it 5 times. If not for that they would have probably had around 600 total yards of offense..

Great thinkin there, THINBLUEBRAIN, you're right on top of this one.

I believe one could about change the name of this thread to 4a state championship. Beating Johnson central twice in a season is a nearly impossible feat IMO.

Anything is possible, but I believe you are right, Bob. Ashland can't win without JC putting the ball on the ground early and often, and I just do not believe that Ashland will be so lucky as to enjoy a big edge in turnovers the second time around. Most games are won in the trenches and that is a battle that Ashland will lose again tonight.

Haven’t seen them and doubtful they are selling them yet but surely someone has some printed up. They are selling 22 Time District Champ gear. Had to get one of those. Lol, should be a great night and atmosphere for the game tonight.

Johnson Central let one slip through their fingers in the district. I believe they come out with a new focus and a chip on their shoulder and come on top in a tough one. Both teams will know they played a game Friday night when they wake up Saturday AND Sunday morning.

Other than the two state championship games, this may well be one of, if not the most, anticipated games in school history. The crowd will be epic. US 23 North will be quite busy this afternoon as will 64 East as Eagle fans travel from Johnson County and Lexington and all places in between.
