She is the Best!
#8
yea shes an awesome ball player g/l in all you do Jade

She is an amazing ball player but I find it hard saying she is the best. I mean Haley Ratliff held her own and more against pretty much everyone. Magoffin also has so many good players it is hard to say one is the best, Manns, Michaela,Calloray, and Hall of the bench are great too. Not taking anything away from Ashley thought just saying she has a pretty great team backing her up. If Haley had the talent behind her that Ashley does then this could very easily be a thread on Haley. With all that said I guess considering Ashley is a 15th region champ and MVP it's hard to say she's not the best.

The best player???
On Magoffins team?
In the 57th district??
In the Region???
What are you really asking???
BTW...when she tried to trip/kick Haley Ratliff in the ankle in the 1st half of the regional championship game, my opinion dropped sharply.    Ashley is a very good player but there is no place for that kind of stuff.
#11
yea, you may say that fox sports but haley body slammed her first, most players would look for revenge because they are so upset

Great players take care of retribution with their game....did you ever see Michael Jordan kick/trip anyone???
#13
To say that she is the best is right, second best!  Haley Ratliff is the best.  I have faced all the players in the 15th and I never want to see Haley run out on the floor.  you can not stop her.
#14
She is the only player that looks close to D1! Confusedhh:

ooo harsh she is still human,,,,any HIGHSCHOOL player would have done the same after gettin slamed...we are NOT talking about a grown man playin the pros who has learned how to control emotions by playin 20 years we are still talkin bout a 17 year old girl... :clap:any player who will slam a girl is NOT D1 material...jade is the only one of the 2(haley) that is D1 quality

Div one coaches see that game tape, they won't recruit her...either of them.

Youth is not an excuse...NO great player with respect for the game would ever intentionally trip/kick an opponent.

great post, and very true.. but I don't see how anyone can call Haley the best or D1 anytime she gets out of breath she cries and stops the game and the next play she will be in running full force until getting hurt again. Kayla got her elbow killed on PC in the champ. and never stopped the game 100 times. Haley does it in any game she plays in. At least 3 times everytime they played Belfry and a couple in the MC game she got carried off. Yes, SHE IS STOPPABLE more stoppable than Ashley Jade, she is not as strong, she is not tough, she doesnt take it in and when she does and she thinks she gets fouled she falls as if she is knocked out. You always see Ashley Jade tough it out unless she gets kicked in the eye or body slammed. Looks like Belfry's girls didn't have any trouble stopping her 3 times this year.

so i guess its ok to get body slammed, pushed and everytime time haley would walk by jade she hit her shoulder as hard as she could but i guess thats allright???

I dont think so.....all Jade wanted to do was get her back but, I guess thats the wrong thging to do I would get tired of it to!!!

I'm not defending either's actions.
This thread is about greatness.
My opinion is that greatness entails more than just athletic ability...it also consist of mental toughness and being able to focus ones' frustration of being fouled or whatever to the next play, not retaliation.

There was alot of contact from Manns,Ratliff, and Ashley so it's a little hard to blame it all on one player. Manns was the first to flat out tackle Ratliff and it could of very well been an intentional, and the play on the baseline didn't look intentional from Haley or Ashley they simply got tangled, yeah they might of been a little bit of acting and stuff but it wasen't as bad as it looked. Not saying anything bad about any of the players stuff happens like that when you are playing, you don't think first you just act sometimes.

excatally this was a very physcial game and both teams was very aggressive towards each other

No sh is not the best and neither is any one else.  IMO if Jade was faced with the same problems as Haley is with no help then Jade wouldnt be half the player she is.  Jade has a bad attitude and when someone bumps her and she thinks it was out of spite then she tries her hardest to hurt that player, which showed in the Championship game.  Imo she is a very "DIRTY" player.  As for Haley, when I have seen her play I have never seen her cry to stop the game or anything like that.  Haley is a very good athlete and can shoot lights out.  But when it all boils down NO ONE IS THE BEST!!!
#25
WONDERFUL post callmeclutch.  I couldn't have said it any better myself.  The only reason I seen PC lose the ballgame the other night is because they weren't as rough as MC.  I thought they played too rough and let it get out of hand at some times.  To say that Jade is the best, absolutely not.  She does play dirty and there is no need for play like that in high school.  As for Haley crying and getting the game stopped all the time, it is a bunch of BULL!!!  Did any of you see her ankle during the school day on Tuesday before the game?  I did and it wasn't pretty.  There was significant swelling and she had been icing it down all day.  Yet she came out that night and kicked some major butt despite PC being on the losing end.  So if you want to say the best, it is hard to say.  But if you want to say BETTER, then go with the one who has the heart and love for the game.  Go with Haley.
#26
That was a good post as well 15th Fan!!!  I have played against both Pike Central, including Haly, and Magoffin, including Jade.  And by far Haley had more sportsmanship than Jade, and she played the game the RIGHT way not "DIRTY" way.  A little word of advice for all the people saying Jade is this so called best player...Don't count your chickens before they hatch!!!

Exactly right. Until Howard can overcome her temper, her temper is going to hold her back.

I've seen Ashley Jade and Hailey play ''dirty'' and I know this because I played against both of them. But as far as which one is the best, I say neither. They both have things they need to work on.
#29
Welp, 1st of all, EVERY TEAM & PLAYER plays dirty once in a while but that's just part of the game! Ya know, basketball is called a CONTACT sport for a reason, but if u can't take the roughness, then don't play and quit complaining! But most importantly, i beleive Jade is the best in the region  ,but she wouldn't be as good as she is w/out Pup & her team right behind her (Britt, Buck, & Calloray, etc.). Luv ya jade n g/l in all u do!

Your statement is untrue. Ashley did not try to trip or kick Haley in the ankle. The play your talking about was when Pike Central was taking the ball out of bounds; Haley stepped on Ashley's foot so she could gain an advantage so Ashley pulled her foot back and stepped on Haley's twice. The referee seen the whole thing and let it go because Haley started it and after it was done told Ashley not to do it again.
