(9)UAB @ (8)Kentucky (First Round)
#31
Morris will have to stay out of foul trouble in order to have a breakout game.. and i odn't know if that will happen or not.. and the other big guys for uk just really aren't good enough to pose a threat...

If UK wins it will be close VERY close, UAB beat Memphis so..i dont really know if UK can pull it out

UAB-73
UK-70
[/quote]

That's a non-factor

Memphis and UAB played each other three times, UAB won on their own court.

2/26 Memphis -73  UAB -66
3/02 @ UAB -80  Memphis -74
3/11 Memphis -57  UAB -46

IMO, the only reason UAB got in the dance is because Louisville, Cincy, DePaul and Marquette left for the Big East. If they had stayed we would'nt be having this conversation about UAB and they all know it.

Check out http://www.blazertalk.com for all the smack they are giving UK.

I seriously can't believe how confident they are about beating us on there...I hope Patrick Sparks lights them up so bad for talking trash about him in there...They said he was fat??? Wtf???

Anyways thanks for the link..That is pretty funny

Not many teams fear Kentucky these days like in the past (Pitino era)....and didn't UAB give UK a spanking 2 years ago when UK had a 'much better' team than they do now??  UAB is a much quicker/athletic team than UK and they'll give the Wildcats fits in the transition game.  If UK uses their 8 foot splinter picker for lobs, UAB could have trouble with that, but doubt if Tub will go with Shag.  Probably still disciplinig him for something earlier in the season.  If I was a UAB fan, I'd like my chances against a Tubby Smiff coached team too.

Alright...
#37
not the best draw for us but we may pull it out...  only to face the eventual champions UConn...
#38
Congratulations To The Kentucky Wildcats for making it past the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament....IF we play Uconn that will be a really close...Everyone is predicting Uconn to go to the Final 4. I think we will pull it off and be victorious in the end....Go Wildcats!!!!!
#39
UAB-68  UK-65
#40
I think UK wins this game by double digits UK by 11 an das far as UCONN who cares who we play next. if you wanna make it very far you will have to play the best sometime so who cares. UAB first. :pirateshoot:
#41
I think Kentucky wins by 3 56-53.....Kentucky has struggles most of the season and I watched them play South Carolina at Rupp Arena earlier this year and they came back from 12 or more down to win the game...I look for Morriss to step up and have the best game he's had all season But I'm afraid kentuckys victory over UAB will be short lived when they meet up with UCONN in the second round......GO CATS!!

CJH....if you're going to attempt to throw around smack here at BGR, you need to first get your facts right.  Little things like that make a kid seem as if he knows something about the subject matter.

I wonder if Randolph Morris will have the balls to respond to this comment from UAB's McDonald?

<i>"Their big man is slow, and he doesn't like to run that much," UAB's Marvett McDonald said of Morris. "We've got quick big men, and they're going to run the floor. We're going to get up and down the floor, and other teams aren't used to that. We play like that every day in practice." </i>

UAB sure is talkin' a lot of smack before this game.  Guess spanking UK the past two times they've played gives them the right to, reckon?  The name 'KENTUCKY' across the chest doesn't put fear into an opponent like it used to ...... thanx Tubby.
#51
I think Kentucky will when, but it will be a close game! If we can upset UConn on sunday we have a shot!

You give UK way too much credit..7 National Titles in over 100 years isn't as dominant as you make it sound...You make it sound like people used to piss thier pants when they played UK but thats never been the case..Being Kentucky only fires up the oppenent more and gets them more pumped for the game if anything..I seriously doubt if there's any team in the country that other teams fear...

Heh......it's clearly obvious you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the history and prestiege of UK basketball, but what can one expect from a kid who barely remembers Pitino's '96 team.  Yes bud, there was a time once when other teams, as you say 'peed their pants' when  they played UK, but not during Tubby's reign.  Just the opposite - they salivate when seeing a Tubby Smiff coached team as an opponent.

Teams arent scared of other teams anymore..It's ridiculous to say that because this day and age anybody cant beat anybody...I remember the 96' team and they were tough, but just becuase they beat the crap out of people doesnt mean teams were pissing their pants before they had to play them..I guess thats what the teams that beat them did right?
