3A payoffs Paducah Tilghman @ Elizabethtown 11/10
#1
Hard luck Paducah Tilghman will travel up (pick one) I-69, I-24, The Wendell H. Ford Parkway, The Western Ky. Parkway, and take its 5-6 losing record to 10-1 Etown for a second round 3A playoff game Nov. 10. They have two common opponents in Edmonson and Trigg County. PT was ahead of EC 42-0 at the half and won 45-0. Etown defeated EC 36-6. Against Trigg Cp., Etown won 47-6 and PT won 56-7.

I for one am not convinced this Etown team is as strong as in the past three years. But I am often proven wrong and I may have a different opinion next Saturday morning.

Etown 24 PT 14

Now, I believe someone from Louisville area was dogging me earlier this year and telling me how weak PT was and how much better Etown was. So, what's this talk about an upset?

I’m not from Louisville

Think etown wins, but probably a good game. I wouldn't be shocked in the least if Tilghman won. I'll go Elizabethtown by 10, and I'll take Caldwell by 10 in the other game in this region against Larue County.

both are weak

I'll pick Tilghman by 6.

Isn't this what PT does almost every year? They usually play a killer schedule, come in with a 6-4 or 7-3 record and then they make a deep playoff run. E-Town is good, but I'm going with PT in this one.

Possibly the best 2nd round game out there.

That is exactly what I think as well!

Wasn't talking about you. A fan of a certain team that I expect is going to get another wake up call when they come to War Memorial.

I think this year may be a little different for PT. They are learning what the coach wants them to do. They are starting to understand that system and believe in it. They also have very strong, physical kids with good speed. Don't count them out. Caldwell Co better not overlook them if they do win this game.

I sure hope you're wrong, 'cause as a Boyle fan if Boyle wins the region I don't want to possibly have to drive all the way to Paducah for a semifinal game.

ETown gets to show contender or pretender

Explain something to me please. According to the KHSAA stat leaders in 3A, Paducah Tilgham has given up a TOTAL of 136 rushing yards and a TOTAL of 63 passing yards in 9 games. How is a team that has only given up 199 total yards in 9 games 4-6??? Please tell me this is just a simple typo and not somebody delibertly falsifying their stats.

It has been that way for a few weeks. More than likely an error in filling out the forms. Knowing the new coach, he would not sanction anything intentionally misleading or incorrect. The defense is pretty solid, but not that solid.
#20
Christian Co. had 128 yards rushing against Tilghman so that's that.
#21
I look for this to be a great game with Etown coming out on top by no more than a TD.
#22
Etown will win by at least 2 TD's but still won't have respect.
#23
I really like Coach Duncan and PT has shown some improvement this year. Etown returns most of last year's team but the Glasgow game has me puzzled. That said, I don't think PT makes up the 34 point differential from this same playoff game last year. Closer but not near enough.

They still won't have respect the following week when they get blown out .
#25
Are you saying Caldwell will blow etown out? Nope.
#26
I second that ^

I'm gonna use 64's line and say I was smoking when I made that prediction so it doesn't count. I got my weeks mixed up and meant the following week Confusednicker:

I don't think they get blown out against Boyle, either. The team that gets the breaks will win that game.

Tilghman could be a semifinalist. Will they is the question I doubt it, but wouldn't be surprised in the least if they beat both etown, and caldwell, I don't see Tilghman getting beat badly if they lose.
#30
Which PT team are they taking to Etown? The one that got mauled by Mayfield and then was later seen in the 4th Q of the Christian Co game or the one that played the other games this season? 2 very different teams that produce very different outcomes
