In my opinion, Coach Egli should be considered for Coach of the Year award in the entire state. He has done a tremendous job in turning this program around. Much respect for him!

Mt. Sterling was tough in football back in the late 1960s. So maybe the genes are still there in the community. One year they dressed about 20 players and beat Henry Clay in Lexington, which dressed 90. Glad to see people there excited about football again.

Coach Egli has alot of kids out playing which has been an issue in the past. Montgomery always has some good players, they just didn't always play. He has them out and executing their system very well. He has also done a good job scheduling for a team that was building. I don't know if they have the speed to handle Doss; who is another well coached team that has been building over the last few seasons.
