The Dawgs are one of the top rushing teams in the state but face a tough test on the road against Greenup. LC corners have to come up and be physical against the short passing game and continue to pound the ball on offense. Going with my Dawgs 28-21.

I don't think Greenup County is strong enough up front to contain the running game of Lawrence County. Greenup has some good athletes that can give Lawrence County some problems but I think Lawrence County will control the line of scrimmage to grind out the clock to win this one.

Lawrence will be able to control the LOS. That's where the game will be won. They r quick upfront on both sides of the ball. LC will control the tempo, imo, and keep Greenup offense off the field.

Raceland gave the blueprint on greenup last week , be physical, go after their QB he struggles with being pressured and and being hit. LC will be able to run at will against geenup. Long night for the green LC 20- greenup 6

I don't know our defense is soft as tissue paper. Lc needs to really have a discussion at seasons end of finding a solution. I may get heat from this post but it's gotta be addressed. For ten years defense has been a real problem. Ten freaking years. Enough is enough with all excuses.

Have to agree to that about what I've seen this year. Powell County moved the ball up and down the field the entire first half on LC. Powell is a lot better than people think, their offense is solid. Even Magoffin drove down the field first or 2nd drive, couple of pass plays they were in the end zone. I think Lawrence has a good team, they fix that D and they could be really good. QB is huge and a good runner, big, strong FB. From what I have seen their o-line may be their strongest point. Those guys are big and stay on blocks. Greenup will be a war. I think Lawrence has a little more offense, gets a close W. 36-34 Lawrence County.

Look I completely understand wanting to play kids one way especially with the numbers we have this season. If our defensive line keeps getting manhandled at some point when the games start to matter are we going to seriously think about playing kids on the offensive line both ways. We have plenty of big strong kids on the O line that I think would do well at defense.

My post isn't bashing coaches or players. I'm simply pointing out something has to change. I know the coaches and kids give everything they have.

At least he had the guts to make a prediction on this game "before" it was played and not hide in the shadows waiting to see the outcome 1st before posting.

I'm going to say something and it will make people mad. Before I do. I want to say LC has great kids. Their good kids. The coaches are great guys. However out of all the schools I have seen this past year LC has put in the least amount of work. Giving it their all is more than just playing hard that night on the feild. Giving your all starts the day the season ends the year before. That doesn't happen in LC. The effort was not put in this offseason. That's what needs to change. The mind set. You go look at a successful program like JC down the road and most of their kids play three sports and they put time in the weight room. That's just my frustrated opinion though.

Lawrence County has some great coaches in place and the numbers are up for the Bulldogs which shows that kids are buying into the system and what coach Alan Short is doing. I will say that these kids have put in the work in the off-season. They started from the end of last season through the off-season so your statement is incorrect. There are benefits to kids playing multiple sports but there is also a danger of burning out with no passion. The old saying holds true "winning breeds success." A lot the kids playing now didn't win many games at the youth or middle school level. It all starts there and working and molding them as they grow up. Lawrence County's youth program has gotten a lot better over the past years and they are competing and winning games where they used to get blown out. The middle school numbers are up and athletes are out, it just takes time.
I think the area they need to improve in, which is evident, is defensively. The tackling needs to improve, too many kids with their heads down, diving at the legs. I would venture to say that the coaches do not teach this, it's probably been bad technique they have grown up with. With so many kids out this year, I don't think it would be a bad idea to give other kids chances at positions that they are getting exposed at.

Everyone thinks they work hard. I am not saying they didn't do something I. The off season. I am sayin lifting weights isn't enough. Especially without a program. I seen them in the off season. I spoke with the kids. I am just saying they did less than a lot of the schools a town over did. Additionally the bad technique only comes from coaching and reps. I am not judging anyone's coaching though. I think the shorts are great guys. They will figure it it. But there needs to be a change. Do t assume you are working hard enough. Also drill drills drills. The only way to fix technique. Something they do very little if in comparison.
