Corbin 34 Pulaski County 7

I think the word is "disputed" Confusednicker:

Dude get a life, I am so sick of you and your mouth discrediting Corbin. If Whitley was in Corbin's situation the hole friggin town of Williamsburg would shut down. Give Corbin credit they have earned it and shut the hell up.

If you don't like it send me a message and I will address it with you. Don't take it out on kids they don't have anything to do with our conversation. Period

1. If you reread the message I posted, you will see I was actually taking up for Corbin.

2. Watch your mouth.

So basically we are saying Corbin is "Ashlanding" their championships. No big deal to me, but 76, 80, and 82 are the championships using the same criteria that the Trinitys and Highlands and Mayfields of the world use. Whatever works I guess.

And I guess that no college football national championship counts before the college football playoff began. Before the khsaa began there were bowl games and the AP voted on a state champion. I prefer a champion to be decided on the field too, but that doesn't take away from the fact that those teams were state champions. It's always funny to me that the only schools that don't count the titles that came before the khsaa are the ones who don't have any from that era.

i know exactly how they were decided, but most schools stick to the KHSAA era to count their championships and most records stick to this criteria. Take nothing away from the players of that era, but as you said I agree with counting championships won on the field. As a matter of fact I would like to see if someone has a list of football championships their schools were rewarded before the KHSAA started running things.

I do understand that total wins and some other stuff may go way back. I know there are some schools who have great historical record keeping and a lot do not. I personally enjoy looking at a lot of the old records and stats of some of these teams.

I didn't know how they did in before the KHSAA but I'm with you I don't know about counting a championship like that but we don't have to worry about it because we never had no body to pick one for us Lol to each there own

Lol imagine if the KHSAA (emphasis on Kentucky, the K) made it where only teams who had all players on their team from Kentucky could win a championship. You'd never have to worry about counting your championships either. 🙃

Mic drop.......

That's not a mic drop that's old news....imagine how many teams would have championships if they had Belfry's KHSAA ruled eligible talent...drop that on your mic.

I'm just playing around guys. I respect Corbin a lot and best wishes to them. If Sizemore gets him a title, he will be very deserving, he's a heck of a player. But a bigger part of me wants the Pirates to keep on rolling. I know a couple of people close to Coach Haddix, and I like them a lot.

Any Championship before 59 is just on paper, because someone said so. Many years multiple teams claim they where State Champion, and noone can truly say who is. How can a team go unbeaten at 8-0, and outscore their opponents 458-0, and some other team gets to call themself a State Champion without facing that team. Same with National Champions in High School football, i remember Trinity having a great team a few years back, and being ranked number 1 by maxpreps part of the year, they never lost a game, but if you look up High School Football National Champions you wont see the name Trinity that year, because a couple different rankers said someone else was the Champion. Who is to say they could have beat Trinity. I dont mind it as bad in College Football pre playoff because there is a better feel for how good teams are since there is alot of games between teams in different conferances that you can base rankings off of. National Championships for High School football not much to go off since most teams dont travel across the nation to play. I know a few do, but most teams dont. Same with State Champions pre 59. A team from Paducah aint driving to Ashland to play, especially in those days.

Not true, Paducah Tilghman was named State Champion 5 times pre 59, and Tilghman doesnt claim any of them. They have 3 since 59.

Looks like the creek is up and floated a few more on here to discredit Corbin, but at the end of the day both teams have there own issues to resolve before they can talk crap. Hope to see it settled thanksgiving weekend. Whether is 3, 6, or 10 the hunt is on and we hope to go through Belfry to get there. But I wasn't surprised to see the belfry fans start running the old poop shoot now that they got in the win column, it's hard to run that mouth setting 0-1 but that loss came to one heck of a team I am not DISCREDITING that just sayin. They must have been busy across the line to try and find a fix. Lol

Where is the 5 Championships coming from for Corbin? 3 since 59, then if you count the pre 59 Louisville Courier Journal ones it would be 4 since they say Corbin was champion in 55, but what year is the 5th one coming from, the Courier Journal just gives them 1 pre 59.
#48
The other was in 1939.

I'm in the boat of "who cares?" We've always had a good strong tradition and always will. We can argue paper all day, it's like saying U.K.s titles when there wasnt an NCAA don't count. No one really sweats it other than some bragging rights. But here and now.... that's what matters. If Corbin can start getting in the flow on offense they'll give any team a game with the way our D is this year. But just to keep the argument going, HUNT FOR 6!! Hahah
#50
I'm in also, The hunt for 6 :Cheerlead

Yea but were counting and going to keep on counting I guess that's bad news for you :1: :1: :1: :1: :1: :1:

The courier journal was who named state champs prior to 59, and Paducah was the 1939 champ.

I got on this thread hoping to find out something about the game. But so far all I can read is a bunch of cry baby republican Tramp supporters fighting about how bad Corbin is. This year is no different than any other, Corbin is overrated. There is only two good things to ever come out of Corbin, one is I-75, the other is Hwy 25, both get you the hell out of that non- football playing place.
#54
^^^^hahahaha!!! Who is crying???? If Corbin is so overrated and bad, then why did you come to the thread looking for something about the game THEY played in? hmmmmm.....
#55
Cause I'm a PC fan and didn't get to see the game. Now go spunk.
#56
PC will still win district! So relax jimmy boy

jim rome Wrote:Cause I'm a PC fan and didn't get to see the game. Now go spunk.

Well, guess you really didn't miss much from your perspective. I guess there is now a 3rd good thing to come out of Corbin, and that's a DEFENSE that held your team under 10 points for only the 3rd time in how many years???? :thatsfunn

I would at least make sure my team could keep it close before trolling and trashing another one, but to each their own I guess.

All schools would have championships if they recruited out of state players .:trolldad: :truestory:
