Russell @ Ironton, OH Predictions 9/1
#1
Can Russell get a win at Ironton or will they start 0-2?

Thoughts/Predictions
#2
Ironton 24-14
#3
No chance against the fighting tigers....Ironton rolls
#4
Ironton by 12.

Wouldn't be so quick to throw the Devils under the bus just yet. Ironton got waxed by Wheelersburg 48-3.
However, being at home I give Ironton the advantage.

Russell isn't a bad team and they lost to a much improved Greenup team. Ironton isn't the Ironton of old and they aren't the boogeyman of NEKY anymore. I think Russell will represent our side of the river well.

Russell has beaten Ironton the last 2 years and the game last night was in Ironton and final score was 48-3. They did lose a lot of players like Russell did from last year. Ironton football hasn't been the same since Coach Bob Lutz left the program. Ironton is not as dominating a football team as they were with Coach Lutz running the program. I could see this being another outstanding game and will be a close game. Since they are playing in Ironton this year I will give a small advantage to the home team this year. I do believe that after watching Russell last night they are a lot better than I thought they would be to start the season with losing so many playmakers and losing Ryan Stump for the season and Austin Church which was out all summer and pre-season with a shoulder injury. Russell will get even better as the season progresses and could have a upset next Friday in Ironton with Russell winning this game.

Wheelersburg are also contenders in Ohio for a state title in their division. The fighting tigers are tired of losing to Russell.
#9
Yes Wheelersburg beat Ironton to death but Wheelersburg is really, really good. I agree Ironton isn't the same as they used to be but Russel is a little down too. I would say this is a toss up but I will take Russell 20-14

Ironton is a far cry from the Ironton of old, but I think the teams are pretty evenly matched this season. Russell will outcoach Ironton, but I predict the home field advantage to work for the Tigers this year as they squeak out a win by less than a TD.

Tigers in a squeaker since it's at ironton but wouldn't surprise me if Devils win

There has been No official word on moving the Russell/Ironton game to Thursday yet. Will post if I hear anything. All I've heard was that Russell/Ironton are in talks about moving the game.
