Yes, Gibson is at South. They were already a good team this makes them much better. I was always surprised she stayed at Owsley but I'm also surprised she leaves her senior year..

You heard wrong. She is back at Owsley, enrolled a few days ago.

She enrolled at South Laurel during early summer and re-enrolled at Owsley this week. I think it was a student liability issue for SL's summer basketball as far as the enrollment thing. Nothing to do with a transfer for the upcoming school year and high school basketball season. Basically an insurance reason.
Macie will be wearing maroon and white next season.

In previous summers, the way I understand it, you could play for as many teams as you wanted, without being enrolled. There is discussion now of adding a rule that requires you to be enrolled. I'm not sure if it has passed yet.

2) They were trying to recruit her with the understanding that she was going to try it out for the Summer and then make a decision

I'll say this, I don't see anything wrong from the Players position. Her family is just trying to figure out what the best thing for her is. From the coach position, looks like he was trying to reel in a big fish and it got away. You have to wonder what kind of effect that will have on his team and their chemistry.............................

The parents are simply trying to get her as much experience against quality play as possible before school resumes.

There was a position open, so I don't think anyone got bumped. If she isn't there, someone who didn't start last year will start next year.

Not very smart? Lol if a player like Macie Gibson enrolled in ur school and there's just slight chance she stays, u let her play! No girls minutes were bothered! One player sat out the whole summer to work!

She is a great player and makes the girls she plays with better. South laurel got better as a team this summer and as for chemistry, it's better now than it was before she got there. Looks like envy has reared its ugly head. Lol. SL is a great team with a great coach and some great players.
