Youngstown State (31-27) escaped with a 3-2 win over Detroit (18-34) and now will need to take two straight against the University Of Illinois Chicago tomorrow, to advance to the college softball big dance.
Cali Mikovich(Canfield, Ohio / Austintown Fitch) singled to drive in the games first run, in the third inning to put YSU up.
Laura Villagrana(Anaheim, Calif. / Garden Grove) double in the tying run, in the sixth inning and then Savvy Ferstle(Temecula, Calif. / Great Oak) gave Detroit a 2-1 lead, with a fielders choice RBI.
YSU got what turned out to be a game winning two run long ball , from Sarah Dowd(Pottstown, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts)
Watched on ESPN3.
