The best move the young man could make if done right. Look at Braxton Beverly. Made his stock go up 10 fold.

Who does he play AAU for?
03-22-2017, 03:14 AM
I have heard that, might not be a bad move for the kid. I was not sure about kids going to prep schools, but look at what it has done for Beverly.

In my opinion he will be the best player in the state next year.

If he's smart he will go. The whole state will key on him now. Also, hoping he doesn't get hurt if he stays. A lot of wear and tear on his body doing everything night in night out. Would love to see him at a big school on TV someday. Prep school is his ticket to do just that, he can be real good.

Special player would be a wise choice

I thought Corbin was a prep school.

Best player I've seen around here. I think that it would good for him to get more exposer than he does. He does everything for Corbin and was the only reason for a good run for the Redhounds.. I don't see him leaving Corbin his senior year but I cant blame him if he does

I think one of a HS players best memories are those of the District and, Regional tourneys, lose and your done, overcrowded packed gyms, fans going nuts, intense, super competitive...EVERY game. Prep schools are better competition , big arenas for some tourneys, but nothing like the local fans and commumity pride. If Taylor doesnt get the offer he wants he can go to post HS Prep school for one additional year. Stay at Corbin Andrew.

What prep school is going to give him 30-40 plus shots per game? Corbin is the best option for Taylor they allow him to shoot as many and wherever shoots he needs. He's their 1st 2nd and 3rd scoring options stay home Taylor. I'd say the 50th district and 13th region teams are hoping Taylor goes to a prep school.

Hargrave is the school he will go to if he goes.

He be back at Corbin in my opinion

Please go. Get out of this place.

He's a good boy. Wish the best

I agree that it sounds like a lot of people are just hoping he leaves to help their teams.
But as far as getting all the shots he wants at Corbin - a big average does not in any way help his situation as far as being a major college prospect. Scoring 15 ppg against great competition would be better than scoring 30 ppg against inferior teams. Some of the guys Calipari recruits may not have out of this world numbers, but those kind of numbers don't make them a prospect. I'd say most years the top scorer in Kentucky is not necessarily a major college prospect.

How do you know that those prep school memories aren't just as special. Not many posting here would know. Do what is best for kid. Seek info from sources other than us here on BGR. I would think the family will talk to a college coach and get some sound advice.

Kid received three offers today from Vermont, Wofford, and Davidson.
05-06-2017, 01:25 AM
All three of the schools listed as offering are great academic schools.....no a bad decision to be made there for sure....
05-06-2017, 06:30 PM
Taylor would dominate in the 50th or the 5th....in the 13th or the 3rd. I guess what I am trying to say is that is a special player.

As a basketball fan I hope he stays at Corbin. I love watching him play even if Clay is on the losing end......as a parent....if it were my kid...I'd get him to the best prep school I could because he is a special player and to me should play high D1 somewhere just like Beverly....I'm not sure if he will get any of those offers if he stays at Corbin......Look at Broughton......EKU isn't a bad choice but he is to good of an athlete to just be playing at EKU.
05-19-2017, 07:22 PM
Don't really agree with the logic must go to get a better or to get better offers. I have seen lots of AAU competition over the last 3 summers and if you are a great athlete with potential the basketball scouts will find you. In saying that lots of time the AAU team choice and locations in which those teams play will be more productive than your high school team.

I agree he plays at Corbin next year. He is best player in the 13th Region, Could be Mr. Basketball. He is top 2-3 players in State. I love to watch him play. Good luck. Hope he stays at Corbin.:1:

He's at North Carolina State right?
07-29-2017, 04:38 PM
Taylor doesn't need to go to a prep school. He has plenty of division 1 offers. This is a very good kid and a great ball player. He will do fine and heard that he may go to Furman
08-05-2017, 06:12 AM
Committed to Furman today. No need for prep school now. Best of luck to the young man!
08-06-2017, 02:24 AM
Furman is a great school. Happy for any kids who can make their dreams come true!

Glad he stayed. When we win the Region, i don't want anyone saying that it was because someone transferred out.....
