North Bullitt and Russell County comes to Perry for what is a tournament?
Barbourville and Lynn Camp in a triangle @ Lynn Camp.
other notable games; Johnson Central, Estill County, Paintsville, Letcher, Knott.

PCC should have another great year, they return almost everyone from a team that won 29 games, and only lost by a score of 3-2 to a senior dominated Hazard team in the regional finals, same team PCC beat 9-5 a week earlier in the district championship game. Evan Hurt was a great player and competitor. They will miss him pitching, at shortstop, and for his leadership.
Long, Cottongame, Dixon, Fields, and Conley have all played varsity baseball since 8th grade. This group upset Hazard in the district in 2015 and won 28 games.
The only bad thing is the 54th district does not seed, so they could draw Hazard first game and have to face Devin Morris and/or Ryan Smith. Hazard always plays a tough schedule as well. PCC's tough regular season schedule will help prepare them for the post season.

Playing teams from different areas doesn't always equal better competition.
Sayre and Russell County didn't even make their regional tournaments last year. Barbourville barely made it in by beating Lynn Camp by one run, and they barely won double digit games with an awful schedule.
You also listed Estill as a notable game along with some other very average to below average teams.
The teams in the Green County tournament are very average and a couple are below average.
North Bullit and Lafayette will be strong this year. Both of them lost a lot of seniors, but they have an even better group coming up. Add Johnson Central with these two teams and basically PCC has three tough games where they wouldn't be favored.
That may be how you prepare to win the 14th region, but nothing beyond that. The 14th has gotten progressively worse over the past several years. It is notorious for being the worst region. So when you know you have to play tgose bad teams every year, and you feel like you have a team that can compete statewide, then your schedule must adjust accordingly.

Perry and Hazard both had the talent to compete on a state level the last few years. Hazard made a nice run in the state All A tournament last year getting to the finals and then had another good showing at the big state tournament.

Should be a great year for Perry they have almost the entire team returning and have some good young players, They also have good young players coming up in the future also coach Dixon will be a contender for a long while now in the 14th and should play well out in the state. Good schedule and the Baseball Field at Perry looks like a major league field. Got to give the administration credit on the facilities they look as good as any in the state.

And still not close to Letcher's or for that matter Knott Central's.

This is the first year PCC has owned the field they play on. Give it a few years and it will be one of the better looking facilities around.
