Knott Central 49 Leslie County 44 (14th Region Championship)
#1
Congrats fatpatfan and Lady Pats on the win. Good luck at state. Bring the hardware back to the 14th Region!
#2
Knott didn't play nearly as well as they did last night but managed to pull out the win. Congrats and good luck next week.
#3
Congrats Knott, I was wrong on this one. I thought Perry would win 14th.

Like I said before it started they are a very physical team an I thought all year that Kcc, Leslie an Pcc were all about even! But after Pcc ran Leslie out of the gym in the district champion game,I figured that Pcc had a slight edge . But the style of play worked in Kcc favor,i'am not saying they still wouldn't have one but it helped because that's the way they like to play an will help in the state, because that's how it will be called down there! Snow ur going to like this!!! Pcc an Leslie both still could have won there games but! I guess the pre season pick of Higgins as best player in 14 th was correct! Normally not a very good free throw shooter she went to the line late in both games an made her freethrows an sent Pcc an Leslie home! Hats off to knott !!!!

Coaches and some non-PCC fans disagree with you. But, you are titled to your opinion. So believe what you will.

Congrats to both teams

Well she done the things she needed to do to lead her team to the state an the other best players are home watching! Thats like saying green is the best player in 13th ! Brock led her team to the state with much less talented players! Profitt an hall will lead Pcc to state next season an they both will be consider the best players next season! They only lose Burris.

Burris will be a big loss for Perry next season for sure. Brock is the best player in the 13th, Green is a good player but Brock does what it takes for her team to win and that's why Profit is the best player in the 14th not only is she a great scorer she does everything for her team

I've followed some of the dialogue on here and there's been great discussion. I'm going to add a few friendly comments which are solely an opinion.

I agree Proffit is a very good player. But I think when one is discussing "Best Player" status the position(s) that the various top player candidates play should be considered. With that said, Proffit is the best guard in the region (she can play the 1,2, or 3 spots). However, Gibson is the best center/forward (can play 4, 5 and maybe 3).
Gibson averages 29 ppg on 55% shooting (and 81% from foul line and 35% on 3 attempts), and 16 rebounds. This while playing with mostly 8th and 9th graders. While her team's 14-15 record wasn't great it also wasn't bad for such a young team, which got better right up to the district tournament, which they won.
She's scored almost 2300 points for her career and should easily pass the 3000 mark next year. And, like Proffit, she has D1 schools interested in her.
Proffit is the best back court player, Gibson is the best front court. That may be simplifying it but that's how I view it.

One thing I will add, it would be interesting to see what a team of Proffit, Kash, Gibson, Higgins, Hall, Griffith, Wahl, Flynn and a few more would look like as a team. Darn if that wouldn't be fun.

With all that being said (see above) let's congratulate Higgins, Waugh, Slone, Hollifield, OHair, Harrington, Thornsberry, Anderson, Mullins, Ashley, and the rest of the Lady Pats team and their coaches on a job well done - playing as a team, never giving up because regardless of all the other players in the region and their stats it's the Lady Patriots that are going to the Sweet 16. You can have the greatest stats ever but unless you have 4 more solid players around you plus about 4 more off the bench you'll just end up sitting at home talking about stats rather than loading up the "train" and heading to BBT.

Knott Central impressed me the times I saw them play this year. Our team played them twice and the Lady Patriots were like a well oiled machine. They were even a top notch squad in warm up drills. I told their coach after one of our games that his team had the looks of a regional winner, and by-golly they did it. Congrats to them and may they represent the 14th to the top of their skills!!!

Got to give credit to the Eagles. They caught PCC on a hot night and took one, but came ready to battle on championship night. That was an enjoyable game to watch. Alright PATS, lets go get Henderson.

The Harrington girl made some big progress in the region. Hope to see her on the floor more next round.
