Heard some people say this could be the most emotional game in the Regional Tournament.
Both teams are guard heavy and should make for an interesting match-up.
Teams met once back on Jan. 14th and the Panthers took that game 69-58. Belfry was coming off 2 straight hard fought District Games.
Pikeville (20-8) 59th District Champs
Belfry (14-17) 60th District Runner-Up
The EXPO should be packed Thursday night!

Belfry will play hard but Pikeville will win by about 10.

Sounds like both teams will match up well with capable guards on both sides. Gonna be an exciting game to see for sure.

But not good. If Pikeville loses it's a major choke.

Is Belfry able to shock somebody that is overlooking them? Yes IMO.
Is Pikeville better than Belfry and won't it happen? Absolutely IMO.

Pikeville by 10+ I'll say. Belfry will come out early and keep it close and then Pikeville will pull away IMO.

Unlike some schools, I've noticed that all their coaches have valuable input. Pikeville is definitely lucky to have those four gentleman on the bench, should pay big dividends over the next several years for the Panthers. Pikeville has had a problem over the past several years with getting good athletes and ball players to play basketball, or at least not quitting. Someone said they had 6-7 players quit last year. Looks like the new staff at Pikeville has program headed in the right direction and finally, the Panthers should be a contender each year for the region. I think they didn't even get out of the district 3 out of the last 4 years.

Man I am not even a Pikeville supporter but that is just dirty to say. You're undermining what Coach Justice comes in and works for every single day and that is dirty. Like them or not, undermining what a coach does shows a lack of respect for what they do on a daily basis.

I don't have any issues with Pikeville... they aren't a rival. Pikeville has an entire school system that is respected state wide.
However, I watched the Paintsville vs. Pikeville game two weeks ago. Justice may be the Head Coach, but everybody in the gym could see who was the calling the shots.
Having your former Head Coach as the A.D. of your school is great for a young coach, but let the head coach be the head coach. Be there for moral support and guidance when he needs it... not be the man who draws up the plays in a timeout huddle. Justice was on the outside of the huddle looking in and Booher had the dry-erase board.... what is somebody supposed to think? If I hadn't seen both of those before, I would have thought Booher was the head coach.

ALERT: Head coach is only person in a huddle allowed to draw up a play or they won't think you are head coach. Dumb!!! How many practices or locker rooms at Pikeville have you been this year? Zero. You don't know anything about Pikeville.
Your probably still upset your fellow alumnist, Bart Williams, got fired and now they are a threat to the region. Maybe their not this year but will be for the upcoming years. Kids want to play for Elisha, period and their parents want their kids playing for him because he is a great role model!
Posters, much less a MODERATOR, should not get on here and make statements that put down other Region head coaches. It's what makes this site bad.
Ttuth be known, you and many other Region coaches are worried about the upgrade to the Pikeville basketball staff and making it harder for others to win district and region championships now.

Actually, they are probably worried about Pikeville illegally stealing all of their players.
Floyd County and Pike County has already decided not to play them anymore.
Have fun driving to Lexington to play Lexington Catholic and Lexington Christian.
And hopefully Booher doesn't forget his Dry erase board.

If it was me I would be more upset you can't use "your" correctly in a sentence.
That is just me though.

They are loaded with knowledgeable coaches. Can any give us some input on why they dismissed Jeremy Hall? He may be the greatest guard to ever play in the 15th? Is anything to do with the recruiting rumor mill going on there?

Just curious, how many games have you watched of Pikeville Pulp? Just the against Paintsville? Cause ive seen them a couple times and haven't seen anything like your talking about. I don't really have a dog in this fight. But I wouldn't base anything as far as that goes just on one game. You very well may be right though. I Guess we will all see in the next week.

That was the first game I watched Pikeville play since 2013 when they played JC in the regional semi-finals.
