I thought both Belfry and Prestonsburg struggled last night.  I expected a better performance, especially from the Burg.

Belfry came out flat, but they started playing with heart and determination.

Here's a good part of the quote from Belfry Coach Randy Casey from the News-Express from the Belfry/P'Burg game with the game tied at 40:

"At the start of the 4th Quarter,on the marker board,Instead of drawing up a play, I drew a heart and said "Guys, right here is what will win it...Who wants it ?, Who has more heart ??? "



I thought that was one of the best pep talks I have ever heard...Randy and the boys fough for this game, we fough for respect...and I think we have opened a few eyes and now everyone knoes Belfry is back !!!

Belfry appears though to not have much offensive firepower other than Maynard and Case.  Their inside game looked weaker than I expected.  It'll be interesting to see the what defensive schemes Belfry and SV run at each other.

Congrat Belfry, P'burg came out flat and never really got on track. I'm Proud of my Blackcats and Sr's. You guys accomplished allot in your four year's. The last two Sr  classes played in the Regional Tourn every year, with two Dist Titles, two runner ups, knocking off the Valley when they were the team to beat. I love you guys.

Better to have got beat out, than not to have made it at all.  :lol:

You could tell by their performance's that neither team was on top of their game.  I think pressure got into all of Prestonsburg's players heads.  Belfry set up in a half court press and Prestonsburg didn't have a clue about what to do.

Well the refs were horrible for both teams, But Prestonsbug missed tomany layups in the first half ! Sean and Lewis played a good game ! So congrats to Belfry ! And thanks Blackcats for all the games I've seen and I have enjoyed them ! So good luck Seniors in your future ! :thx:

P'burg just came out flat in the 2nd half.  I still think they were the better team... and i'm not just saying that because I'm from P'burg.... but congrats to Belfry.  Should be a great game Friday night against Valley

I dont see how you can say Pburg is better team because that is 2 times they went down to Belfry and this one was neautral floor with 13th region refs.
Belfry inside played a good game not much schoring besides Case and Maynard I dont see that neither because Dustin May led scoring for the Pirates.
Belfry got a bad start they were missing wide open shots. Pburg got in passing lanes well also. I just think the better team won but Pburg gave a good effort and faught hard.

We got lucky to get out of the expo center with a victory......until P-Burg changed D will were having trouble and IMO if Dustin May didnt have such a great game we wouldnt have won this game.......

Prestonsburg should have won they were up by 10 and should have put it away in the first half ! But Belfry played the Half-Court defense and that killed the Blackcats ! IMO we passed the ball to many times late in the game and should have shot more 3's or gave it to lewis or sean and let them work than passing the ball around ! Congrats Belfry and good luck in the Region and Congrats to my Blackcats on a Great Year !!!
