Would love to see all time winning percentages, and Playoff Winning percentages, but I don't have much of that info. I know Mayfield has a all time winning percentage of over 76%, and a Playoff Winning percentage of over 79%. Trinity, and Highlands is even a little higher in those categories.
#2
Awesome stats! Thanks for all the work
#3
I have said this before and will repeat it, and these stats back me up.

Trinity and Highlands are the two flagship programs in Kentucky historically.

Mayfield is historically the best small school program in KY historically and right near the top when you look in terms of pound for pound.
#4
Awesome work on compiling these stats!

One thing that stands out to me are the 3 teams in the top 10 of total championships won who are not in the top 10 of championship appearances: Boyle, Covington Catholic, and Fort Campbell. There are others with more of each, but those schools got it done once they got to the finals.

Of course, no one has done it better than Highlands and Trinity.
#5
Since 1976, which is a 40 year span, Mayfield has been to 21 state championships. I like our chances next year.
#6
Great work on all this data. I believe over time these numbers will be inflated for some schools because of the six classes. In ten years it will be interesting to see the numbers. Then maybe do a pre 6 class comparison. Good for discussion though.
#7
Corbin has had a great program for over 100 years!

Continuing on some stats, I now will do a top 10 in winning percentage. These stats come from football friday night, so don't be surprised if the numbers are slightly off, but here is the top 10 in all time winning percentage for teams that have over 500 wins

1 Trinity 601-160-7(78.710)
2 Highlands 879-231-26(78.521)
3 Mayfield 861-253-32(76.527)
4 Danville 766-247-34(74.785)
5 Male 869-325-49(71.883)

7 Tilghman 772-324-25(69.982)
8 Bardstown 610-271-16(68.896)
9 Bowling Green 683-331-35(66.778)
10 Owensboro 734-375-30(65.759)

Next I will try to do a top 10 playoff Winning percentage for teams with say 50 wins or more.

Great lists. I just hate seeing Ashland on there. The success they had was mostly during pre-modern times. They haven't been consistently relevant since the introduction of color tv.
#10
Plus Highlands, Male and Mayfield in the top 5 of the country in wins.
#11

Somebody needs to Fact Check the Ashland Blazer numbers....

Even if they do have 677 wins, (which I seriously doubt) lucky for them they had good teams before the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential administration.

They are probably counting all of their "At-Large" state championships. :lame:

This is really going back. But how about mythical state champions. Prior to playoffs

Ask Ashland.

Did everyone know that there were no NCAA national football champions before 2014. Anything before that was mythical and doesn't count.

Granted they have two more titles than Danville, and six more total trips to the finals...that 1-9 all time record vs the Admirals might say different. Lol

All in good fun. Whoever is 1 and 1A for the top spot of KYHSFB Small School Power doesn't really matter to me. Love everything about them both. I just like throwing that little tidbit of info out there.

But, if Danville had met with Mayfield any time since 2009, how do you think that would have went? No doubt they had our number for many years. But, they vanished for quiet some time since then. Even had Mayfield made it there this year, the results would have been the same or worse. Mayfield was not Mayfield at Louisville this year. When you lose 2 players off the d and have to juggle them around in 1 weeks time, that changes things. Easy comparison would be to look at the way both stacked up against Corbin.
#18
Like to see Corbin return to the Championship.
#19
I like their chances in 2017.
#20
I am interested to find out more info on Covington Catholic. We play them for the first time in 2017 and I do not know much about the style of O or D they play. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Trade film? This season they were in a 3-4 defense all zone. Shotgun on offense most of the time. QB has a strong arm and is a big kid who runs a little.

Unless something drastic happens....they'll have to do it on Pond Creek....

Thank you! I am sure we will trade film as we get into next season. I was just tying to find out from so local coaches their thoughts on them. We play some 3-3 stack, 4-4/4-2-5, and 3-4 defenses. I was just trying to figure it out so I could do some work on our playbook.
#24
You would have to have Corbin on the list.
#25
What about Lynch in Harlan County before they closed

It might happen in 4 or 5 years but not in 2017

I really like they're chances in 2017
#28
Great work on the numbers!

Corbin is my early pick for 3a in 2017.
