Sorry guys! But I watched a very poor wolf county team beat owsley county at breathitt last week! Owsley did not impress me! Lee was my pick too!!

Lee has a very good team. Kash is a heck of a guard. Heard she had 38 tonight.
Owls are just too young. When you have to rely on mostly 8th and 9th graders to handle presses and run the team it's tough. Gibson had 36 tonight but wasn't enough to beat a Lee team with 38 from their best player and a balance attack of 38 points from the rest of the team.

Teams in the tournament had better not overlook Lee. They're a good team with a great guard to lead them.

Lee played really well. Shot the ball well especially from 3. Made 9 I think. They had a very balanced attack and put together a full game. This was a tough game that was close for 3 quarters before lee was able to pull away. Owsleys youth showed late as I felt like they wore down late in the third and fourth. I will say don't count Owsley out yet.
After watching I am sure of one thing and it was a backup to what I said earlier. The best two players in this region played in the game. Macie Gibson was fanastic from start to finish. Kash from lee was the same.

Your right but it would have still been this long after. You know work gets in the way sometimes. You can refer to my other post if what I thought about the game.
I have nothing but respect for the Lee team. They are playing really well. I do worry they may peak to early.

I understand work wasting most of your time outlaw it did mine for 40 years. Maybe when you retire you'll be like me and have more time to analyze player skills. Gibson and Kash are great players and both have a chance to play at the next level,but Proffitt is the best player not only in the region maybe the state. Hall is a freshman with the skills of a senior. Four years with Randy Napier and she will be something to watch.

I think we need to keep things in perspective. These kids are competing in the 14th region. Will some of them have an opportunity to play college basketball? Yes, I think so. Are they going to play at the elite D-1 level, probably not, but that's okay. I'm a mountain fan and love to see these kids get recognized but I think sometimes we, including myself are wearing blinders. You take any of these kids and put them on a Mercer Co, Mercy, Holmes, etc...I'm saying any top 5 team in the state and they would still be good players but they wouldn't be producing the stats they are in the 14th... So I say enjoy it but don't get too caught up it the stats because it's not necessarily a true indicator...

There was only one player in the state of Kentucky to go to an elite D-1 school last year, so that's an unfair statement to make about these kids... I know for a fact Profitt has D-1 offers. Must be doing something right

I'm not discrediting anything these kids are doing. I'm a huge fan. Any college offer is exceptional. When I refer to Elite D-1 I'm saying , UConn, Duke, ND etc.. I'm sure several of the girls are getting some D-1 looks and that's great and I hope every kid is successful.. But I think we need to put things is perspective, 14th region say compared to 11th region, Whitney Creech avg'd over 50 ppg last year and got a great scholarship to WKU. Makala Frank avg'd 10ppg for Franklin County and also got a scholarship to WKU. Both play guard. If you compare their high school stats there is no comparison Whitney's eclipse her substantially but when you compare the players competing against the same competition, not much of a difference.

I think the coaching staff at western has realized that they can get mountain kids an they will,work hard an be productive, an I wouldn't be suprised if profitt isn't at western ,Pcc has some close ties with the coaching staff down there.

I think Frank has been injured but games she's played avg 10 min 1.3 pts, Creech 12 min, 5 pts.. the kid from Glasgow went to Ole Miss so I would say we had 2 big time recruits last year.. And before you say it , I agree Ole Miss is no UConn or ND but sec conf is big time. Be nice to see a 14th region girl playing in the sec..if Proffitt gets an offer from WKU that would be awesome..
