Timmy Dalton Leads Nation in Scoring
#1
Timmy Dalton of Lawrence County is currently leading the nation in scoring at 37.7 ppg according to MaxPreps.

The kid is so quick and is just about impossible to keep from getting to the basket. He is shooting such a high % because he very seldom has to take a jumper. He is the best player in the 15th, no one is close. Not Russell, not Blair, no one. Everyone has their own opinion but he has literally carried Lawrence on his back this year.

Is he the first to do this since Ervin Stepp?

Nice article in regards to Mr. Dalton's amazing accomplishment:

Where would you list him? It's not like the competition in Eastern Kentucky is that good.

He can play basketball, I thought he had signed to go to college. I hope he can get in .

Not sure where i would rank him among the others on those pages, because i have not seen the other kids play. However, i have seen this kid play and he can get to the rim and score. He is often facing opponents best defwnders and doubled teamed and triple teamed at times and the kid still finds a way to get the ball in the bucket. Not saying he is a top 10 or even 25 tecruit. Im just saying he is a player and doesnt seem like hes acknowledged for it. I hope he does get a good scholarship offer as I like to see kids from the mountains do well.

He has verbally committed to Salem International.

Timmy is one of the top players in the state!

^ Agreed, should be 15th region POY, but I'd say people will make sure that don't happen.

Dalton is a great player for sure. He can absolutely get to the basket at will. I'm shocked there hasn't been more buzz about him both around the state and also in recruiting. He has impressed me big time by being a one man show at Lawrence this year especially after the amount of talent he played with last year. 15th POY of the year for me

Is this referring to eligibility? Meaning, is this why larger schools have not looked at him?

I don't care if it's Salem International, or Podunk State, if the kid gets into college and excels, larger schools will come knocking on his door and entice him to transfer.
