Johnson Central needs to get their act together after a very embarrassing loss to Shelby Co. (1-8), a bottom three team in the 8th region last night at the Henry Co. Inv. When teams from the mountains go to tournaments down state they should go with the goal of proving that teams from up here can play! This loss helps prove the critics they are correct when they say the mountain regions are weak. Well I guess the 15th is pretty weak, when the best team gets beat by a bottom three team in the 8th region.

This tournament should have resulted in a championship or at least a runner up finish, setting up momentum heading into the new year and the beginning of district play. Now as a result of the loss last night the Eagles will play two more teams with a loosing record and at best a fifth place finish.

Yes, they traveled and to Henry Co. and they just came off the Christmas holiday, but you can't play as just two players. They are 5 on the floor per team and it is time that JC plays team ball and stops this "two best guards in the state" and focus on a team effort. Sure when Blair is on he can fill it up, but come on all this 3 pt shooting is crazy! Take the ball to the hole sometimes. Maybe once the scoring record is broken it changes but it is still a ways off. Crace absolutely fills the stat sheet up every game and competes hard, but they have to get either Rice or some of the others involved before the others just give up. Sure, they may win another region title, and will then get beat in the first round of the state. But how about proving that the 15th region can play at least during the regular season.

Probably a little bit of a mental letdown for JC after winning the derby classic versus Lawrence County last week and then having a little break for Christmas. Hopefully JC will learn from that and bounce back with 2 wins to end the tournament.

For this game I'd like to see JC refocus. While this team is definitely wired to run and gun I'd like to see a little more emphasis on getting a couple of touches in the post, a couple more shots for both Rice and Austin Davis (both are good shooters), and hard defense without fouling. JC by 8

JC is 9-2 so far this season.
A 6 point loss to a good Perry County Central team that is 8-3 on the season.
A double OT loss by 6 to Shelby County. Yes, Shelby County has a bad record, but when you look at who they've played this season, that record is very deceptive. As of yesterday, the teams who have beat them had a combined record of 75-15.

As for the bolded statement.... your obviously upset over something dealing with the JC basketball program. Not sure what, but some type of distain is there. Baseball is just around the corner, we should have at least a pre-season Top 5 team on the diamond this year, maybe even bring back home a big trophy from Lexington with a Golden Baseball on it.

Real basketball championships aren't won before Valentines Day anyways. They lost last night. Tommy, JR, Clint, Scott, Eddie, Jason.... those guys are there for a reason. I'm the biggest JC homer on this forum, and you don't hear me complaining about a regular season loss.

We live and die by the 3.... facts is facts (yes, I know it should be facts are facts) #sarcasm
Blair, Crace, Rice.... those three can collectively shoot as well as any other three guards in the Commonwealth. Leon is getting better, but has a long way to go in a short time. Come district and regional tournament time, JC will be fine. I don't recall seeing a banner hanging in the gym for winning "The Henry County Invitational".

There is no distain, nor any problems with the program. Don't pass judgement on someone who you don't have any idea about! Just tired of every time you read they always say that mountain regions are weakest in the state, when we have good teams that are capable of beating other regions teams and yet lay an egg against a lesser quality team. I really don't care if it is JC, or any other team that is one of the best in our region. When we play out of region teams that are not as good they should play with a chip on their shoulder and win.

By the way, I agree PCC is a good team, but was talking about teams from regions outside the mountains.

Baseball should exciting to watch this year!!!!

I saw Frankfort in the East Jessamine tournament. JC shouldn't have too much trouble with them.

I don't know who u r but u r. Clearly trying to stir stuff up! Anyone can get behind a fake name and start stuff. You should be able to tell who I am by my name! I am proud to have Leon and Ryan where they are. The coaching staff at JCHS have been nothing short of great! And as for you u really don't know anything about me or my kids! I really hate being dragged into stuff that no one knows anything about! JC has been great to watch and the staff are working their butts off to get them better! You clearly have a kid envolved and are not happy! As for Leon, he needs to run the floor and listen to the JC staff! He will be ready by the time the district and region start! Another thing while I'm on here you really don't know anything about me or my kids! Once again I love how people can hide behind a fake name and run their mouth. In case u didn't figure it out this is Chalice and I promise I have enough respect for Tommy and the staff to tell them if I was going to do anything! Heck man I even work in Johnson County! I have no desire to go anyplace else! So, please trying to make it look like we are not happy! Worry about your own kid and leave us alone!

For those of us calling for less 3s to be shot the difference in this game was a stretch of 5 3-pointers hit by Mason Blair in 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter. Completely changed this game from being pretty close to a 20 point blow out. Good to see JC bounce back after a disappointing loss the day before.

Rice dribbles down passes that all he does . Lol

If you wanna call that a "Fact", then I have ocean front property to sell you in Oil Springs.

Through 10 games, here are some of his stats, per the KHSAA website.....
He is 18 of 37 on his Three point shots, for 48.6%.
He has scored 107 points.
Hit 20 Two point shots.
Hit 13 of 16 Free Throws, for 81.3%
He has 31 rebounds.
The website doesn't list his assists, blocks or steals.

^^^^^^
These are called Facts.

So your "dribbles down passes that all he does" line is not correct. :welcome:

Look here I am in no way going to reveal my identity over this! I would like to try explain though some of this for what it is worth.

I am in NO way trying to STIR STUFF! This is why I hate posting on this site, if you put things out there as an opinion or ideal that some don't agree with it always ends up in a argument!! It is like a grown up soap opera, some will back others to the max while others are made out to be evil for expressing their opinions. Deep down I could really careless who scores or shoots for JC. I just enjoy mountain basketball and hate to see our area critized for their lack of talent, when our kids are as talented as others for the most part.

Mr. Slone, I do know you in passing, not very well though. You are a grown man you don't have to go on a message board and call another man out over a simple post. I was told by a couple people from Martin Co. what was said.... I really don't know but they seemed awful certain about it. So, I relayed the message. If, it was not fact then that is on me. I apologize for false rumors. I was not putting your kids down nor any of the others either. I have only expressed that the big boy should be involved more, he is a 7-footer in the 15th region and that two players usually don't carry a team in post season. If you are happy then that is great!! If the whole bunch is happy that is all that matters.

Best of luck to JC the rest of the season.

With this said I am out! Just trying to share an opinion and insight not stir up trouble. You guys can have this soap opera, this stuff isn't for me!!!
