14th Region
#1
Who is the best team??
#2
Breathitt or Perry ???????
#3
I like PCC. The Proffitt girl has exceptional skills but also understands the game. Does anybody know who has worked with her? She plays like the daughter of a coach. Somebody told me her mom was an athlete and very smart too.
#4
Perry is playing the best right now. Knott is next, then a jumble of teams.
#5
I actually thought it was a toss up between Knott and Perry before last night. Perry, hands down.

Has everyone forgot about Breathitt and Letcher. I feel like these two teams will be good down the stretch
#8
Has anyone watched the lady tigers play this year they r really on fire and they got more than one girl to lead there team. To me 14th region better watch out for these girls they are 4-1 right now.

Definitley Perry. Knott should have beaten Leslie by more. Proffitt coming to Perry....big difference maker. And I'm guessing she is not a coach's kid....she shares the ball too well. Lol. She and Hall are the best duo in 14th for sure.
#11
True that kygamer I see big things for PCC not only this year but in the future. I heard there was another one of those Proffitt girls that would be a 7th grader next year is a player also. Lot of talent in tha 14th.

jackson city ??

No they have plenty more. Hall and fields are good players and the whole team play solid. They also have a strong bench.

Perry is solid at all positions inside game has improved so much from last year. This team will be hard to beat in this region. Plus they have the best coach

Dang. We know you think the are the best. But, best at every position (including coaches)?
#17
Can not argue about the coach because his numbers don't lie and the team will take care of the rest.Melt the snow!!!
#18
I don't think anybody could argue about who has the best coach just no facts to argue

Name a couple of years he has won without bringing in players. It's winter and the snow will get heavy on your mind.

He was in the final 4 last year with a grade school team.
#22
They also beat Leslie at Leslie for the district, I think he done a great coaching job, the last two seasons Pcc has been way down .
#23
He also has that state championship you have to count.Snow might be slick but he can't argue against that
#24
Napier is an excellent coach. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. With that said, he has his hands full this year. 14th region will be a good tournament.

This will probably be one of the best regions in a long time. Here is how I have it:
1A Perry, Hall and Profitt are great and can play with anyone, lack inside game though, but definitely have best Coach in State!
1B Knott, already had a good team and transfers from Magoffin and JBS were great players

3 Hazard, playing well right now, starting 3 Perry County girls and still have one of their best players in a boot until January. Sturgill and Caudill are great guards and match up good with Perry's young guards.

4 Leslie, good group and shoot 30 3's a game, not been hitting a good % though, have to improve if they want to compete with the top teams

5 Breathitt, got a good team and plays well together, Coach Wallace usually tries to coach to much and over thinks things

6 Wolfeplay really hard

7 Letcher they are improving as the year goes on Coach Adams will have them ready at the end of season

8 Jackson City good group of girls
#26
I think Owsley and Lee should replace Jackson City and Wolfe, they may even be better than Breathitt right now but it's early.
#27
I agree Owsley and Lee both have a great player and if they were on the same team, they would be competing for a regional title. They are right there with Jackson City and Wolfe, any of those 4 could really be in any order.
#28
First Tier
1. Perry Central (Great coach, explosive scoring, high basketball I.Q. In the backcourt)
2. Knott Central ( Most talent, interesting to see how the new bigs work in)

Big gap to second tier
Second Tier
Hazard ( Struggling, ACL injury really hurt, have to find inside scoring, bench is limited)
Leslie County (good defensive team, have to find consistent offense)
Letcher Central (good coach/system, make others play ugly, offense struggles)

Third Tier
Breathitt County (season depends on how Brewer returns)
Owsley County (best player in the region, must limit turnovers/ guard play)
Estill County (good nucleus, need more consistency, short on the bench)
Lee County ( good guard and decent post, lacking defensively)
Powell County ( sneaks in after win over Owsley)

8 Jackson City good group of girls
based on play right now top 5'in the region
1 Pcc
2 Kcc
3 lee
4Hazard
5 Leslie

If lee keeps playing good they will win there district
Kcc if the district is not in hindman, Lcc could shake things up
Pcc two of there dist teams in top 5 , so it will be a dogfight!
Leslie , hard nosed good coaching ,could bring an upset or two
Hazard my dogs will a hard out in the region if they make better shot selection an the region is in hazard !!
