Title 1 of 2 for the Williamson area this weekend! My only question is to any Mingo Countians on here is, what took you all so dag on long, it's unacceptable to wait a whole 6 years before winning one!! Haha but seriously I couldn't be happier for an area hit so hard economically and near and dear to my heart!!

Can't stand Yogi Kinder, but congrats to the Miners.

Who takes over at Mingo Central next year?

A complete guess, they should give Joey Fields a shot.

David Jones would be a home run hire.

if either one of them get it.then maybe Belfry and Mingo can play each other and also I have heard that coal would be coming back a little at a time.

Had the opportunity to watch this one. I'm not a big Yogi fan, but looked like a good group of kids. The qb and running back especially impressed me. Congrats miners!!!!

Thanks guys for the congrats. It's truly a remarkable accomplishment
to finish perfect, state champions and send Coach Kinder out a champion.

Our crowd was fantastic at the game (had nearly double what FSHS had) and
the kids really got a great experience the 3 days we were in Wheeling.
This championship may very well have been the final "key" of sorts in uniting our communities together and solidifying the consolidation.

Was very glad to see this!

Mingo County has needed something positive with the current economy and this team provided a big lift to so many,

I know some Belfry fans disagree but I would love to see this become an annual game once Yogi retires.

If not Belfry, I think a Pikeville or Hazard vs. Mingo Central game should happen. That would be a hotly contested game most years.

I think Pirates vs Miners needs to happen in the worst of ways, make it a bowl game and play it at Lefty Hamilton on Williamson's Westend lol.

Having graduated from Matewan High School, I for one have been cheering for the Miners to get that championship from the start. Never dreamed it would be this soon. That in itself is very impressive! Congrats to Coach Kinder and the Miners for a job well done!
