Russell 30 Fleming County 7

That's three games in a row the defense hasn't given up a TD.

Congrats to Russell

Fleming came in averaging 40 points a game. Russell's out there looking like the 1985 Bears on D.

Fleming was awful! Russell offense still struggled to establish any sort of rythmn or identity... Defense has good run support from linebackers and secondary but I still wonder how they would against a team that was actually any good.... I guess we will have to the Raceland game for that
#6
No excuse to not get touchdowns against Fleming in the redzone.... Once again going under center with two tight ends and a fullback is still a legal football formation!!!

Did you call Mark Stoops the other night?

Not a uk fan buddy... I'm a fan of real college football

Make fun all you want FBALL but we will see come time to play Raceland or the Belfry Pirates....

Fleming definitely didn't live up to their end of the hype. Russell took them to the woodshed.

I think Russell was the better team by far last year. The Devils just laid one of the biggest eggs ever in the slop. Russell came to play tonight and won't be challenged until the Raceland game. Regardless of the competition, Russell's defense is mighty impressive this year.

I'm a Raceland fan and I think the Devils will give Raceland all they want. As a more realistic Raceland fan. I don't think we find out how good we are until we play Paintsville and Russell.

I thought it was a statement win by the Devils on the road. Definitely caught the attention of the Raceland fans when they announced the score.
#14
When did you become realistic.
#15
Devils may post shutouts in the next 3 games. If they do, this will mean the defense will have given up less than 30 points through 9 games. Not to bad regardless of the competition.

I became realistic when you became skinny!

To me, even bigger than the loss last night was Fleming losing 14 Jaden Waller and 26 Nick Clark to injury. I hope they don't miss substantial time because they are both good kids and big parts of this team.

Seems to be a trend with this yrs Devils defense. If i remember right the Greenup game is the only game that the opposing team didnt lose 2-3 player due to game injuries.

Hope both are on the field Friday

Sounding like another Russell and Belfry match-up in the playoffs

I think as one user said that Fleming County was Awful but should have said that Russell's Defense made Fleming County look awful. When Fleming County played Greenup County to a 31-30 loss Fleming had approx. 350 yards on offense and 4 TD passes by Crump. What Russell has done all year on the Defense side and the lone Loss coming on the last drive by Ashland to win 8-7 the 'D' has been Outstanding. Russell's 'D' has only given up 5 points a game and the next 3 games should put Russell at 8-1 heading into the Raceland game. The offense has started coming around and Smith at QB has been averaging close to 200 yds. a game in last 3 games and with Conley in the backfield the offense can only get better. We will see heading into the Playoffs how great this 'D' is when we play Raceland in our last game before the Playoffs. We will see with how good the Raceland Offense has been this year how good the Devils can be in the Playoffs.
